Absurd bad software regulating my purchasing of things wrongly labelled as bladed items. I've now run up against bad Ebay software that is demanding i prove my age - when the age of my account is older than 20 years, so obviously i'm an adult. Clearly Ebay is incompetent. I tried to buy a replacement axe handle - a stick of wood - it blocked my purchase and forced me to leave the platform to buy it from a not-stupid website. It wants a UK credit card to prove my age - i don't have one.. i'm 63 years old, and i've been a very loyal ebay customer for 20+ years and the new software is so bad that its making me buy off platform... that's very very stupid for the business. STUPID. I just tried to buy a circular saw for cutting some plywood, and i've just been stitched up with the same age verification nonsense.. i'm the account holder, the account is over 20 years old, get a grip! I'm not going to do age verification, i'm going to take my business elsewhere. If ebay loses revenue for being stupid, its not my problem, too bad for them... i'm really sorry, but really guys, if you can't make your software reasonable to your core customers, then you're too stupid to stay in business. You all deserve to lose your jobs and get replaced by someone who can make a platform that does not punish people who are not breaking the law and who are obviously of age. STUPID software is costing ebay badly... get a grip.

Mentor1 month agoIt is the law, not just on ebay that you have to prove age for bladed items, ebay chose to only accept credit card.
Age of account is not relevant as an under 18 could be using your account.
