why am I asked to provide age verification to buy a small metal slitting circular saw when I first registered with Ebay more than 18 years ago - and why am I not able to use a debit card? Why are other verification methods not available - I have no need of a crdit card; why not include a driving licence which states date of birth? Calling a small metal slitting saw a bladed item, as per a weapon, is ridiculous - are all saw blades 'weaponised'.

·10 months agoEbay insist that you prove your age for any bladed item at the point of sale - to make that simple, they insist payment is made with a credit card.
It's the policy if you are shopping on the site.
The only way around this is to ask somebody who has a credit card to pay and to reimburse them.

OP10 months agoneed a credit card when alternative methods are available; plus they are
treating a genuine engineering tool as a weapon - why, when they allow
so many other things that a depraved mind could use as a weapon?
