Mentor1 month agoBy law you have to prove you are 18 to buy bladed items,
This applies where ever you buy these items.
Ebay choose to only accept credit card.
Ask a friend to buy for you.

Mentor1 month agoeBay are only complying to legislation and law. They are not being pedantic. It doesn't matter where you go you will have the same issue, however different companies use different methods for age verification.
I watched 24 hours in police custody last night a 17 killed his family members with a knife and gun, are you saying you would rather this would be happening than companies taking responsibility for the matter with the help of the government?

OP1 month agoNever heard of anyone running amok with a hedge trimmer. I have only been an ebay customer for over 20 years. How old do i need to be and what more proof is needed? I could understand it if it was kitchen knives. Anyways i have taken my custom elsewhere now so thats the end of it

OP1 month agoGetting someone to buy it for you is what can be done by under 18s so that makes this current system flawed

Mentor1 month agoAs I said, it is the law to prove age for these items.
Different sites and shops have different ways they accept prof.
Under 18s don't have CC.
If shops sell them a bladed item, they are breaking the law.
