adding cost for extra packing
how do I add additional postage fees to a listing that requires extra packing materials to protect it as there are glass elements to it that will require substantial card and bubble wrap to post?

I have just messaged the potential buyer to say I'll need to revise the listing anyway to convert it from collection only to now allow for and add postage option as well,
... and then I'll need to revise the item price to cover my costs for materials

Mentor3 months agoYou can't, you'll need to factor that cost into your price.
Can you get a free cardboard box from somewhere and cut that up and use scrunched up newspaper instead of bubble wrap?

OP3 months agointeresting reply, thank you, but that would require travel to find 'free cardboard' from somewhere, and also purchase of newspapers as we don't have them, so your suggestions would cost me to do that.
The item is listed as collection, but a potential buyer has requested I make it available to post, and said just wrap it in card and bubble wrap, but I do not think it fair for me to pay for that out of the current selling price, which doesn't allow for post materials.

Mentor3 months agoIf that is the case, you should either edit your listing to add postage, or end the listing and relist quoting postage.
If buyer buys with no postage being paid, there is no way through ebay for him to pay you extra.
