Adding a reserve price
Hi, I have not used Ebay to sell an item before but have stated a 'buy it now' price and enabled an auction to take place. I thought that the 'buy it now' price was the same as a reserve figure. Does anyone know if I can edit the existing listing to add in a reserve or do I need to de-list and start again with a new listing with a reserve this time?

Mentor11 months agoI think John a seller can cancel bids without receiving any account defects, not sure if any fee is payable based on the highest bid placed for ending an auction early, used to be. 🤔

You can either let auction run or end & relist.
Reserves are expensive & you pay fee even if item does not sell.
Better to start at minimum you will sell for.

Mentor11 months agoA Buy it Now Price ( BIN) is very different from a reserve in price and action!
When listing in auction format always start with the lowest amount you are happy to receive, the item cannot sell for less. No need to add a Reserve as this is classed as a listing upgrade, and it's the most expensive, 4% of your set reserve payable sale or no sale, and charged the second the item goes live.
A BIN is the price anyone can buy and pay immediately when there are no bids, for those who may not wish to wait for an auction to end, and are happy to pay that BIN price.
A BIN will disappear when the first bid is placed, and the auction runs on in auction style only, in fairness to the other budders.
Cancel your bids, link below shows how, and list starting with that minimum price you're happy to accept.
