Account restriction due to VPN??
A few months back I used a VPN while abroad—totally normal —and eBay locked my account, thinking I was hacking myself (??) . Tried calling support: impossible to reach a human representative. Back when I was dealing with this, they were only willing to verify via my old phone number (associated with account), which I couldn’t access at the time, and refused any other way to verify.
Now I can finally access my original number again, but eBay’s help pages are a total black hole. I just want to lift the restriction, via SMS I assume, but it seems impossible to do that without a representative—and I can’t reach one in any way. and ofc eBay have no email CS... Who has no email CS?!
It would be annoying to give up on the account for such a silly reason.
Thanks

OP10 months agoAgain thanks so much for trying to assist me despite i'm in the wrong place.
but the main help as mentioned in the first post is a black hole, it just leads nowhere.
all that's described in the "Account Restrictions and Suspensions" segment is how to pay for an item pending.
I again emphasize I have done absolutely nothing wrong ever on eBay, simply used a VPN and wasn't able to verify with SMS.
When I go down on that page to:

OP10 months agoThanks but once you press help it goes back to the .com site,
I don't think there is any contact line or CS designated for .il
As for @tressygirl 's reply , I was also unable to reach the US or International number that is supposedly "open between 5 to 9 Pacific time". They give some error message like "We are not open now", 24/7 for weeks now.
Thanks for trying to help.

Mentor10 months agoIt does work, others have used it.
You must log out of this UK site first, clear cache and cookies even close down your device and log back into . com then
https://www.ebay.com/help/home does work and that's the Customer Services you need to speak to not anyone here in the UK, they cannot help you here.

Mentor10 months agoIt's not possible to reach a ' human agent' if you call at the wrong times.
I recommend calling at 9 a.m. to day or preferably 8 a.m. on weekends is when ' live' agents start and at that time, there's more chance of Dublin answering.
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

OP10 months agoThanks for your reply but I am currently outside the UK and the callback option does not work internationally. Is there a number you can call where they actually answer?
Thanks

Mentor10 months agoYou will then need to log out of this UK site, log into www.com and contact CS this way, through their help pages.
https://www.ebay.com/help/home
Lines are open between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. Pacific Time
