Account Restriction after an Item Sold
Summary: claren_5258 shared an issue with their eBay account being restricted after selling an item, despite providing tracking information. They expressed frustration with having to wait five business days for the restriction to be lifted. tommystrezures suggested that negative seller metrics and a violation of eBay's cash on collection policy might be the cause. tressygirl clarified that cash transactions for collections are against eBay rules and explained the correct payment and collection process. john1297576 recommended checking eBay's guidelines for faster payment release.
My account has always been restricted once I have an item sold, stating that I have to provide tracking information of the item. However, it's been provided by the system once I have acquired the shipping label. I get into the system and I can also see that the issue has been resolved. But I have to wait for 5 business days for the restriction to be cancelled. I don't understand why and the Ebay agent could not help me anything on that. Anyone here can tell me what the problem is and how I can fix this problem. I really can't accept that the account to be restricted for 5 business days every time I have an item sold.

Mentor1 month agoI suspect your seller metrics are causing a problem with the two negatives you received. If eBay read them, then they will realise in affect you also conducted an off site sale by asking for cash on collection. This is NOT allowed.

Mentor3 weeks ago · EditedNo sale is allowed to be ' cash on collection', this is strictly against eBay's rules. I edit , and add aside from a vehicle purchase !
After purchasing a collection item, the buyer has to go to eBay checkout, pay there by various card methods / PayPal, etc, there is no cash option to select there.
The buyer then receives that essential 6 digit collection code which they must give to you to scan as it's the only proof you have of the item being collected, and will release payment for the item, sooner.
