Account Region Mismatch Preventing Business Account Conversion - Needs Technical Review
Summary: adeel.401 contacted eBay's support team to address a technical issue regarding their account, which was originally set up in Pakistan with a Payoneer account. After moving to the UK, they've encountered difficulties in converting their eBay account to a Business account on the UK domain due to regional data inconsistencies. They request a review and correction of their account details, enabling them to operate under their UK Limited Company, and highlight that this issue may affect others in similar circumstances. They seek guidance on necessary documentation for resolving the situation.
Dear eBay Support / Technical Team,
I am writing to raise a technical issue with my account that the standard customer support team was unable to resolve, and which I believe requires attention from a technical or policy development level.
Account Details:
Background:
I opened this eBay account several years ago (in 2023) while I was living in Pakistan. At that time, I linked a Payoneer account for payments, as that was the standard method available to sellers based in Pakistan. Since then, I have relocated to the UK and I am now trying to use this same account on the UK domain (ebay.co.uk) and convert it into a Business account, since I now wish to operate through my UK Limited Company.
The Problem:
When I contacted eBay customer support via chat to request this account type change, the representative informed me that they were unable to process the request because my account credentials/details still show as being based in the US, even though I am currently located and operating from the UK. As a result, the option to change my account type from Individual to Business is not available to me, and I am unable to sell properly on the UK platform.
Why This Needs Escalation:
This is not a simple account setting that front-line support can fix - it is a mismatch in how my account's origin/region data is stored on eBay's backend, most likely a legacy issue from accounts that were originally set up through Payoneer for sellers based outside the account's current operating country. I believe this affects other users as well - anyone who created their account in one country (such as Pakistan) and later relocated to another country (such as the UK) is likely to face the same restriction.
My Request:
This account has significant history attached to it, along with my primary Gmail address and phone number as verified contact details. Starting a brand new account from scratch is not a practical solution for me, as it would mean losing this history and having to re-verify everything again.
I would like to request that:
1. My account's region/location data be reviewed and corrected to reflect that I am now based in the UK.
2. Once corrected, my account type be changed from Individual to Business so I can properly link it to my UK Limited Company.
3. If this is a known limitation affecting accounts originally opened in one region and later used from another, I would appreciate this being escalated to your technical or account policy team for a proper fix, as this likely impacts many other users in a similar situation.
Please let me know what documentation you need from me (proof of UK address, business registration, ID verification, etc.) to support this request.
Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your response.

You need UK account with different email & UK bank account.
We don't use payoneer in UK.
