A vendor is selling goods stolen in a crime acknowledged by police

I have tried many times to report a vendor who recently registered with eBay but whose items for sale consist largely of stolen goods from a suitcase of mine which was stolen from an Avanti train. I have the police acknowledgement of the crime, with the crime occurrence number, but all attempts to send in my police report simply yield 'report failed'. I need some of the items urgently and was able to purchase some from this vendor myself but the most important was an astronomical camera which was won in auction by a colleague and paid for. However, the vendor declared then that the item was 'defective or out of stock' and eBay refunded the money. The police seem not to be able to stop this person selling my property on eBay, even though the item I bought myself was sent to me by royal mail and revealed the name of the perpetrator, whom Googling revealed to be a prison escapee sought by police in March this year. I am deeply frustrated by Ebay's impenetrable barrier to getting help on this. I need to speak to a human agent.

Mentor5 days agoEbay will only deal directly with the police on this matter. The police have to choose which crimes they investigate. This link should get you to an agent, eventually.
