A matter of "Good Faith".
I had a request from a vendor to request a cancellation "Please note, order 22-14197-78279 was not cancelled by the purchaser as claimed but by the vendor."
If I had requested such a cancellation, it would be a hit on my trading record.
The vendor contacted me with a tale of damaged stock and then asked me to cancel to protect the vendor's reputation.
I will not take the hit on the vendor's behalf.

Mentor5 months agoBuyers don't get defects for cancellations, only sellers do.

Mentor5 months agoIf the seller quotes ' out of stock' as a reason for the cancellation this will give them a defect on their account.
The other 2 reasons do not bring about any defects, they are , ' Buyer Requests to Cancel' and ' Problem with Buyer's address.'
If either of the latter 2 are selected you can if you wish contact eBay Customer Services explain those reasons are incorrect, no permission was given to cancel, address is fine, and you were disappointed not to receive your item.
You will not know of any, if any sanction they place on the seller's account, but may well give them that damaging defect.
