3D Secure system
So, I tried to pay for my item on 2/8/26. The payments didn’t work. Today I talked to my bank provider, she checked and everything is fine on my bank account. She said either the seller or eBay needs to update their 3D secure system so the big amount of certain items can be processed. I emailed the seller highlighting this and only get automatic responses. What else can I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

OP6 days agoWell, I did buy quite often but I did not get any notification about me being blocked or limitation. I always pay quickly after winning the bid. Well, it’s very frustrating.

Mentor6 days agoWas the type of card you tried to use, included in the methods of payment shown on the item you wanted to pay for?
Which bank do you use, many of the new banks available, only use the facilities of a clearing bank, which can mean payment may not be secure as required by ebay.

OP6 days agoHi, I have pay many items previously with the same card without any problems.
The bank said because maybe it’s big amount, the seller needs to upgrade or update their 3D secure system.

Mentor6 days agoNothing really to do with seller, buyers pay to ebay, and never heard of any delays in making payments. Sellers do not know the method of payment.

Mentor6 days agoeBay is a selling platform and collect the payments, so sellers have no access to payment settings.
eBay process payments for individual items costing thousands of pounds, so I can't believe that the issue is their end.
Have you tried a different payment method?

OP6 days agoI tried splitting the payment into 2 bank cards. One is mine and the other is my daughter’s, unfortunately it didn’t work too. My husband refused to help because I spent too much on eBay…hummmm

OP6 days agoI spoke to my bank today and she checked my bank details and said everything is good. She is the one who suggested the sellers might need to update their 3D secure system.
