2 Sellers have cancelled my orders.
I am a regular, but not frequent, eBay buyer and have rarely had any issues but recently 2 sellers have cancelled my orders after I had won the auction. The first one gave the reason that they didn't agree with the Selling rules, having not actually read them before listing the items.
The other, today , has not actually communicated with me at all! I received an email asking me to pay but I noticed that there was no p&p on the invoice. I looked back and found that the item had been changed from £2.94 p&p to collection only during the course of the bidding (I had offered my maximum so didn't bother to check as bidding rose). I immediately contacted the seller asking for either a revised invoice to include the p&p I was bidding on, as collection is impossible for me, or cancellation. I have now found my prospective purchase cancelled but had no actual contact from the seller. In the meantime I have "lost" an alternative I would have bid on had I known.
I was under the impression that listings could not be materially changed if bids had been made, so to have it happen twice within a few months makes me wonder if the recent changes to eBay have made mean that listings are actually now meaningless as they can be changed willy nilly by the vendor even after an intention to purchase has been made, in which case I will not be using eBay again.
Has anyone else had this issue or have I just randomly come across a couple of dodgy sellers?
