1 ordered and paid for, 4 delivered
I'm new to buying off ebay, seller sent me 4 when I paid for 1 and want only 1. I've reported it to the seller immediately and am waiting for a response, there is a return address on the package, but it is a business park does not have a business or sender name on it. Plus I am not paying for delivery it was there mistake.
Is this potentially a scam, what's the scam. I believe that if it is the sellers mistake, they have to pay for shipping at their expense?

OP10 months agoThankfully the seller has been in touch, it was indeed sent in error. They are sending 3 labels for the extra 3 unordered items, I am keeping the one I ordered and sending the unwanted ones back as soon as they send the labels.

Mentor10 months agoI would think it's a mistake. The seller must provide cost of return upfront otherwise you do not have to send the extra ones back.

OP10 months agoHopefully the seller will make contact soon, I certainly don't want 3 items sitting around for days/weeks etc. If the seller offers to pay for posting, I certainly don't want to give them my bank details, can they email a shipping label through EBAY messages or Post to the address they sent the items to in the first place?
Sorry to ask, I had hoped nothing like this would happen, it's a pain, I'm suspicious of mistakes and probably won't buy on Ebay again now.

Mentor10 months agoThey can buy a postage label online and send you the QR code to either take to your post office and they print the label for you, or you can print and attach it yourself. Or they can post it to your address if you prefer.

OP10 months agoI have tried to contact EBAY to get advice from them, it is impossible so I'm left waiting for the seller to contact me. I will need proof of the UNOPENDED items being posted back to the seller and a communications trail on EBAY regarding that.
I'm sure this is a mistake and the seller will correct it, but at the moment I'm being extra cautious.
