I don't work for eBay why do they like treat me like I do?
I feel that this is a form of harassment and it needs to stop, I don't work for eBay so these bully tactics really need to stop, does anyone else receive these?

·6 months agoSomething is going wrong which is why you have got the email. Everyone who sells on ebay have to meet the same performance standards.
I don't really see it as bullying. More informative that something is going wrong. It appears to be an ongoing issue rather than a temporary dip. If it was me I would be reviewing my metrics to see where I have fallen short. Some things though maybe outside of your control such as postal delays or customers falsely claiming items as not described to get a free refund.

·6 months agoOther posters on here are factually correct but I do think you, the OP, have a point as regards the message's tone.
It's important that eBay consider carefully what words to use, and tailor words to suit the type of message. Tone and the impression given do matter, especially when writing to someone on a demoralising subject.
It came across as, with my exaggeration: "You, yes you, I'm talking to you, you miserable little seller! Your sales aren't making us as much profit as we want. So buck up! And get your hair cut."
Some sellers prefer a blunt no-frills message, or are able to easily shrug it off as corporate-speak. But a one-size-fits-all-messages writing style isn't necessary, and eBay's HR/CS departments have enough employees to draft some nuance. When the message's subject is something bound to demoralise, some finesse and at least _sounding_ encouraging would 'oil the wheels'...and more likely to produce the hoped-for result. And I don't mean just preface the message with: "Better sit down for this."
We suspect eBay doesn't deep-down care about people as much as we'd like to hope; after all eBay is a big aggressively competitive business in a cut-throat market, so it understandably is very focussed on making a profit, but it can be counterproductive to broadcast that.
At the least the message should end with "if you've any queries or would like more help please get in touch." As a sign-off, a big blue button is blunt, impersonal and not a guarantee of help. We're all fortunate that there are discussion boards, where eBayers can talk to real people and in an informal conversational way.
In all, eBay, please take a bit more care in how you words things, whether it's a "buck up" instruction or sitewide announcements (less corporate-speak, for instance).

·6 months agoIt's not bullying at all , it's informing you, you have fallen below the standard required for selling on eBay and it tells you where to go and what to do to improve your selling, so you can remain a seller on eBay.
We are members like yourself, subject to those same standards, as members we cannot access your account to help you further, but the message you received explains what to do.
Go to your seller dashboard, this is found on the right of your feedback profile page.
Scroll down and you will see where certain points in selling have fallen below standard, that is where you need to correct / improve on.

·6 months agoEbay expects certain standards from people who use their site. Fall below those and they let you know, and impose sanctions. These could include the ultimate one of removing your ability to sell.
I agree their communication style often falls rather short, but at least here they have not outright lied to you.
I am sure the car boot organisers have standards too, and if you fell below them they might well ban you from selling at future events.

·6 months agoI imagine anyone falling below minimum standards of selling would.
eBay have metrics as a seller you need to meet if you wish to sell on their platform.i don’t get why you are surprised by this.
