“This charity ID can't be used for a cross border listing.“
I am getting this error: “This charity ID can't be used for a cross border listing.” when trying to enable a donation to Cat’s Protection on an item I am selling. I’m in the UK, item is in the UK, and I’m pretty sure Cat’s Protection is in the UK too. 🤔
Does anyone know what the issue is and how I solve it? Thanks in advance.

Hi @mourns ,
Thank you for your post.
Does the listing offer global shipping or have international postage options on it? Do you have the item number?
Thank you,
Kat

OP8 months agoI believe I turned off all international shipping possibilities and indeed have it set for collection only.
Item number is 205876321893
Thank you.

Hi @mourns,
Thank you for the item.
From checking it looks like your eBay account is originally registered on the .com site and not the uk. This would be why you are getting that message that the charity id can't be used for a cross border listing.
As you have been selling the registration site of your account cannot be changed so you would be unable to use the charity id's.
Thank you,
Kat

OP7 months agoHuh. What an obscure little thing for the system to get hung up on! Thank very much you for solving the mystery though. When I opened the account back in 2001, I was living in the US, so that explains that. It’s a shame as I would have liked the extra boost that the item clearly being for charity might have given.
Kind regards,
Mourn
