Charity Selling Limits Increase
Hi there,
We have had a charity Ebay account for a couple of years, it is in good standing although we haven't used it much throughout this year.
We primarily used the account to facilitate an annual charity auction in October each year where we sell donated items from musicians and the wider music industry.
Excitingly, this year, we have more items than ever to list, and have promoted the auction across UK music press and radio. Unfortunately, our current seller limits have only got me to about the half the items (70) we would like to auction. Last year, Ebay were very accommodating and gave us a temporary increase to support the auction. This year we have received a blanket 'No' due to this year's sales activity.
The customer agents I have chatted with have been sympathetic, but essentially stating that the system won't allows us an increase.
Is there anyone in Ebay who specifically deals with charities who might take a more pragmatic view on a temporary increase to avoid us losing funds and/or having to switch to an alternative auction platform last minute?
Any advice welcome!

·10 months agoIt's rare that eBay reconsider a firm 'no'. I have some experience in the Charity sector, may I make some suggestions for this year's auction and how to improve your account going forward?
Before that, do you know eBay used to be known as an auction site but this has changed a lot? These days I ask myself three questions before deciding what to auction:
- Is the supply low (is it rare on eBay).
- Is the demand high (is it desired by a lot of people).
- Is the price unknown (there are no other completed sales, e.g. in Seller Hub > More > Research Tool)
If the answer is yes to all three you have a good auction item. So this year, if I were you, I would pick the 70 best auction candidates - like signed posters - and list them. The rest I would list one per week as Buy-it-Now throughout the coming year. This should make make more money for the Charity and set your account up for a bigger 4th auction in 2026.

Thank you for reaching out.
I understand where your coming from. With selling allowances they are usually increased based on previous selling history and with only selling once a year for the charity auction a system auto increase is unlikely.
However your account has been reviewed for your circumstances and you should see an increase has been applied.
