Who remembers joining eBay from Yahoo ?? Being forced to leave Yahoo because eBay bought it. Now ebay is nothing more than an over priced second hand shop. Who thinks it should change ?? Here's my idea. Private sellers, Auction only. They can have 'buy it now' and 'reserve' prices, but once a bid is taken it's auction only. No ending listings early without genuine reason, this is hard to prove, but regular sellers who do this need to be fined/charged for wasting bidders time. Ending auctions to make the highest bidder the winner still allowed at the final price. Maximum 7 day auction, who wants to wait 10 days for an item to end ? Maximum auction start price is 10% of the buy it now or 5% of the reserve. to stop people starting actions and stupid high prices. eBay simple postage in every category, not just a few. Business sellers, Buy it now's and offers. as normal. No auctions for them. They pay fee's to ebay and buyer protection. Simple delivery also for business, as too many are making fee's back from their postage. Business sellers listing and selling items they don't have 'in stock' be fined. Too many sell off ebay and don't alter their sales, so you buy it for it to never arrive (it got lost) or instant refund and excuse 'sorry not in stock' these business's need to act more like a business. Postage also needs to be quicker. If a private seller can post same day (some times) then a business who acts like a business and sells like a business can post like a business. no three day or longer waiting for an item to be posted. Drop shippers, more action taken against foreign registered sellers selling in the UK, yet postage takes weeks to arrive. Mostly Chinese sellers, clearly registered in China (and other countries) yet claim to be UK warehouse and UK seller, and when item arrives takes over a week often longer from the UK..!! This needs to stop. Just an idea, Since Yahoo is long gone, eBay is going the same way with more sellers going to other websites to sell. Bring back the fun of the auction, bring back that dopamine rush we all crave for.. Maybe even make eBay two entities, eBay Auctions, and eBay store (buy it now and business sales) ?
