AI Slop Photos Are Not Trustable

Highly fed up of seeing AI "photos" of products. If the picture is not the actual physical product that is offered, then I'm not buying. A fake generic AI picture is a lie. Using AI in this way is declaring your intention to profit by misleading. Ebay needs to give us a toggle switch to block out the mountain of slop. Thank you.

Removal of an E Bike listing - Baby out with the Bathwater?

I got a "no reply" email from EB today advising me that my listing to sell my privately owned e mountain bike has been removed from EB as the AI gatekeeper doesn’t think it complies with rules relating to “large” used Lithium-Ion batteries. My listing is for a completely UK legal Scott pedalec (pedal assisted) with a small 360Wh battery. My Scott’s electric assistance is limited to 16mph. Scott is also a well established bike manufacturer whose electric assisted bikes have passed all of the checks imposed by the UK, as well as those imposed by the European Union, with CE Certification to their batteries and battery chargers. My bike (along with those from many other reputable manufacturers like Giant, Cannondale, Boardman, etc) is most certainly NOT one the throttle operated motor bikes masquerading as a pedalec, or one of those Suron type electric powered motorbikes, much favoured by drug dealers, which have lithium-ion batteries exceeding 1000WH and top speeds in excess of 50mph. Yet EB’s AI appears to be lumping all electric bike under the same heading and taking no account of the important differences between a totally legal pedalec and the totally ILLEGAL electric powered motorbikes. If EB’s problem is the transporting of “large” rechargeable batteries through the mailing system then simply deny a posting option and say bikes can only be collected in person. If the issue is trying to comply with the UK Government’s desire to clamp down on the Chinese uncertified and lets face it unsafe fire risk bikes and batteries, and the illegal electric motor bikes then I'm all for that but would implore EB to reprogram the Listing requirements to distinguish between the types of bikes, and also amend the AI interrogation system to discriminate sensibly between legal bikes and the illegal ones. Having said all of this a quick search today on EB for “Suron” and “electric bike” turns up hundreds of these bikes lots of which are clearly fitted with enormous batteries which I suggest will not be EU approved or CE Certified !! So why is my listing being removed but hundreds of other from EBers who will fully aware their listing or for illegal bike being allowed to remain on the platform.

      Free postage from ebay

I'm a fairly new seller and have been putting clothes for sale in the women's categories. However, if the item is under £20, ebay have been paying the postage. Does anyone know why this promotion has suddenly stopped, as they said it would run till 15th July. Thanks

      eBay Customer Support

Ebay used to have brilliant customer support for problems encountered - whether selling or buying. You could talk to a real person. Now it seems that you can't? Is this correct? I can't even find a contact (email address) to send feedback to - if someone knows an address that you can write to please let me know and thanks in anticipation. Very disappointing and a massive backward step IMO

eBay Account Permanently Restricted but Still Receiving Orders

Hi, I changed my eBay account from personal to Ltd. eBay restricted my account, but I’m still receiving new orders and all my listings are active. I can’t create new listings, and my payouts are on hold. Support says my account is permanently restricted. Has anyone experienced this before?

Total sale amount for speedy delivery to USA

I have a potential buyer wanting to buy my new and sealed 2001 Luigi’s Mansion Joyride Action Figure but he’s asking for the best and faster service from UK to USA, wanting the item to be delivered by 8th July. The offer is sitting at £243.42, which will leave me with £235. The action figure outside of the packing sits on 486 grams. I don’t know who the best and fastest service would be and how do I accept the offer and post the item without personally losing any money from the postage tax/charges on my end? Would i still receive a label to print at the post office eBay like I always do and save me from doing it myself?

      Old playing cards

I've collected cards for 80 years and researched all kinds of aspects of their production, producing five books on different aspects of the subject. I therefore find it a problem when I see exaggerated claims of rarity, value, incorrect dating and any other misleading information about cards on offer. I often send further information to sellers who haven't quite got the right information and most seem to be grateful for the help. That's all I want to do - help. A few sellers seem to think they know better and ignore my attempts to help them. Always ask a seller on what basis they make the claims they do. There's also such a thing as the Trades Descriptions Act in the UK.

      Sad But True

I have been an Ebay member for 20 years, and I am seriously thinking about closing my account and going elsewhere due to the amount of fraudulent activity here now. Why does Ebay allow these people to continue to use the platform when they are ripping folk off - or does Ebay even care, so long as they are making money?

      Incorrect returns label from seller

I have raised a return with a seller for a faulty item . They have sent an incorrect postage label . I’m a Post Office Counter Clerk and know what they have sent won’t be able to be processed in the Post Office . It needs to be a QR code that is scanned and a label is then printed in the post office . This will then create a receipt as proof of postage . I have messaged the seller but they haven’t responded. How to I raise the issue with EBay directly ? Is there a phone number as I’m just going round in circles .
