kat@ebay
Hi @bischem1937 ,
Yes, you can post again with your question.
Thank you,

·1 year agoThank you.
Earlier this year we sold our car. It was then picked up by a car transport company who didn't have the buyer's details. I only know his eBay ID. He says the car was scrapped and the DVLA informed, however we have found out that the car is still registered in our name. We can only change that with the buyer's name and address. Unfortunately, he has so far ignored my request.
Is there a way to find out through eBay?
kat@ebay
Hi @bischem1937 ,
I'm sorry to hear of this situation. Due to privacy and security reasons eBay would not be able to give out the buyers name and address details.
If the buyer continues to ignore your requests you may need to seek the advice of the DVLA of other options to obtain the information.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoHello All,
When a seller sends an unsolicited offer to me & they have multiples of the item that I want I can only see a way of accepting the offer on a single item. How can I get the offer price on all items if they don't have 'Best Offer' as an option - is that possible?
Presuming the offer price has been sent to multiple watchers it won't make any difference to the seller if one person or 4 people buy said item.
kat@ebay
Hi @sweetcharity.2013 ,
You would need to contact the seller and ask them to set it up on all the items rather than just the one item.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoI, along with many others, have repeatedly reported a confectionary seller, registered as a private seller, when all their listings refer to their 'small family run business' which can accept bulk orders.
Given that there are strict rules surrounding food sales from where the food is made to showing an expiry date (which isn't shown on their listings), I am surprised that they are still trading as a private seller.
Honestly, if ebay can't see that this is a business seller, nor the seller that has sold 900+ identical items, there is little point bothering to report, is there? (And yes, I have reported, on the link we are given on this weekly chat, and on the 'report item' on the listing. Nothing, zada, ziltch.)
dave@ebay
Hi @Anonymous
I cant see what action was taken after you sent the reports in but sometimes the policy team requested some information about the items and give them a period of time to reply. It can then look like nothing is being done but there is usually something happening in the background.
If you want to PM me the userID I can send it on to the policy team and ask them to review it.
Thanks,
Dave

Why are private sellers are allowed to list 'homemade' food products for consumption?
Surely this should be a subject to the FSA approval certificate.
Jo
kat@ebay
Hi @bojangled ,
As part of eBay food policy sellers must register their business with the UK local authority. Sellers not abiding by this policy can be reported through their listings through the normal reporting function.
Thank you,
Kat

Thanks for your reply.
I'm afraid I've stopped reporting, the tool doesn't work. Usernames aren't verified, I even tried reporting myself and I don't exist!
I was thinking more along the lines of they shouldn't be able to list home produced food products without sending in the necessary documentation and approvals first.

Hi @bojangled ,
Dave did raise the reporting issue last week so that is currently with tech and being looked into to resolve.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoAt what point should we be able to see the majority of private sellers who are clearly running a business transaitioned over to a business account or account closed by ebay? Whilst some of the private accounts have moved over to business accounts there are still many private sellers who are clearly a business. And some of those that have moved over seem to be using fake companies house details to get registered.
marco@ebay
Hi , thanks for your question.
People won't be able to see what actions are taken on different accounts due to privacy and security reasons, if you see an account that you believe is breaching our policies/procedures, please feel free to report it, so it be reviewed and actioned accordingly based on the review.
Thank you,
Marco

I made 27 reports and all are still happily trading on private accounts, I am now at the point where I feel nothing is actually going to get done and I may as well just go and join them, NOBODY selling handmade and personalised should have a private account!!
Also we would see what actions were taken as these accounts would either stop selling or would be made to upgrade onto a business account.
I feel we are just being told what eBay wants us to hear!
Sorry but I have no faith this will ever get resolved, even the new report a seller option doesn't work!!
marco@ebay
Hi @krafty-kreations, thanks for your question.
I totally understand where you are coming from, and I can clearly see your concern. However, it is within eBay's best interest that every accont that should have a business account, has a business account, since fees would the main income for eBay as a company.
So, I can guarantee you that all reported accounts are reviewed and actioned accordinly. Unfortunately, we are unable to disclose what happens with the reports exactly or what actions are taken into consideration for the reasons we've mentioned before. So, please continue to report them if you think these accounts are breaching our policies and procedures.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoI am not asking for information regarding a specific account but in general when can business sellers expect to see the majority of private accounts who are clearly running a business transferred over to a business account?
The information on the account is publicly available and is pretty easy to see if they are a private or business account and any action has been taken by ebay or not. They have either still getting away with it, moved over to a business accoutn or restricted and kicked off the site.
It seems pointless to report accounts, some have over 800 brand new items, others have a phone number in. No matter what ebay rules they are breaking everytime comuter says no nothing wrong. So not only do they not have to accept buyer remorse returns you now give them free final value fees and a even bigger advantage.
marco@ebay
Thanks for your reply, .
I totally see your point, and I understand it. This is all done on a daily basis.
As I was saying in a different reply just there, it is within eBay's best interest to stay on top of these reports and accounts that could potentially be breacing our policies as fees are one of the main incomes for eBay as a company. So, if you can, please continue to report any account you find if you believe they are breaching our policies.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoI like many others on here have reported many sellers time and time again yet ebay do little to nothing as they contiune to trade as a private seller or now even when they have registered as a business they are using false company details.
Why should it be down to other sellers to report private accounts who are clearly running a business. We pay more than enough in fees for ebay to do the job of detecting businesses on private account. At the end of the day you have all the data and sales history on each and every account on the platform to see trading history.
If I have reported an account 5 times and you have not taken any action, another 20 times is not going to make any difference.
marco@ebay
Thanks for your reply, @returns_andexdisplay.
Please note that this is not mandatory, it is totally optional and up to you. If you don't want to report them, that's also ok, as this checked on a daily basis, but you reporting them will also help. However, this is totally up to you.
Thank you,
Marco

Depending on your bank it can take 0 to 4 business days for the funds to show in your account. You can find more information on it in the FAQ section here.

Messages are not being marked as sent so do not know if the buyers are getting them, and traffic seems very slow
kat@ebay
Hi @mteconlineshop ,
We have received reports regarding messages today. It has been logged with tech and currently being looked into. I'll add your account to the recent ticket.
