·3 years agoRegarding the above post where sellers should not be selling the similar items on different accounts. Just wondering how a private account which trades as a business can have at least three different accounts selling similar stock then?
Happy to provide examples if needed?

·3 years agoI asked 2 weeks ago if eBay knew it was Easter, I asked last week for eBay to look at the unrealistic delivery times shown to buyers.
On Saturday night I did some screen prints of items and their estimated delivery times and it seems either one or both of the above need urgent attention.
The items show the wrong amount of days for delivery.
The RM48 - 2nd class shows 3- 4 days for delivery, yet estimated it to be 2-3
The 1st class post is clear winner as it shows delivery faster than next day delivery by either DHL or Royal Mail Special Delivery??
Seems the DHL and Special Delivery is also wrong, as that shows 1 day more than it should take.
Here are some example, I have a lot that were checked on Saturday night at thereabouts 11pm and where the earliest the item could have been posted or sent would be Tuesday 11th
How is an item posted Tuesday arriving between 13th - 14th with 3-4 days postage?
That is only 2-3 days as you do not count the day you post it, unless eBay are also counting Easter Monday as the day we are supposed to post it??
Hence my question 2 weeks ago asking if eBay knew it was Easter, as I knew this would not work as it didn't
That is only half the problem.
Buyers are being shown 1-2 days delivery with RM48 - 2nd class post, as my post in the live chat last week.
Can eBay actually look at this as there is something clearly wrong and a - I will forward it to the team as feedback - reply is not going to get it fixed.
It is with frustration that I am writing this again this week. I am not having a go, I just want the issue to be taken seriously and looked at as it is clearly broken and obvious to all of the sellers judging by how many threads and posts there are on here.
Buyers are being misled, that is causing a lot of extra work for sellers responding to why items are not actually late and that is why they have not arrived.
We are all spread thin in these challenging times for us all and it is just not fair for the issue to not even be acknowledged fully, let alone anyone fix the problem.
In my post last week, I suggested instead of the dynamic estimated delivery dates, just add the actual amount of days to the shipping as the Royal Charter says, then see if and how that works rather than the way it is now as what is currently happening is not working.
eBay are making it look like hard working honest sellers are lying to the buyers, as the buyers say that we put the estimated delivery dates there. I am tired of replying the same thing again, that eBay put the dates there and we have no control.
All I ask is that if eBay insist on putting estimated dates there, then please make sure it works, the system can count, knows when it is a bank holiday and at least add the right amount of days for the shipping.

Russ

·3 years agoFeedback is not working on either of our accounts, I will show 1 example from this account.
This account shows 99.9% with no negatives in the last 12 months when you click it, see below:
If you click on the zero for negative, you see this

As it happens, a totally unfair negative feedback as the buyer has come back and told us that they realised afterwards that their expectation of a reply in those 5 days actually also included Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and also Easter Monday.
That is a separate issue that might need resolving, that the buyer's expectations do not match what is reasonable.
Can eBay please look at why something so basic, that has existed for more than 20 years does not work?

·3 years agoWhen are eBay going to seriously address the massive abuse of duplicate listings on eBay.
We compete with sellers that have the same identical item listed 500-1000 times and such is there level of doing this, it massively deteriorates the buyer experience.
These sellers are not done there though, an alarming amount now have several accounts where they are using the same exploitation on all of their accounts and eBay to date are yet to do anything of any real value after 6 years of asking.
Please can eBay do something about it.
Regards
Russ
katie@ebay
Hi Russ,
Thank you for your question. Please continue to report items of this nature to our teams directly via the report item link on the site.
The specialists in this area will then review and take action needed.
Thanks,
Katie
dave@ebay
Hi @ducatimondo
Thanks for all the above. With EDDs and the calculation we can only feed this all back to the shipping team for review. I can assure you we take this feedback seriously but from here this is the only action we can take.
I will as always make sure this is send this to the relevant team so they will be aware of the impact.
Thanks,
Dave

·3 years agoThank you for your reply Dave, I know you will do your best to try and get it sorted but they are doing nothing about it are they.
Can you give us a realistic timeline of when eBay will actually do something because this is quite frankly seemingly never ever gonna be sorted form what I can see.
Regards
Russ

·3 years agoThe last month or so I have noticed a increase in returns claiming not as described when they have not read the listing or buyers putting offers in then not paying as they then go back and read the listing. I have noticed in the last month or so ebay have introduced a pop up at times when searching for items and buyers can click this to purchase the item quicker but without actually looking at the item page. This is great for brand new products where the buyer likely already knows what they are purchasing.
As my store name suggests I don't sell brand new products and often best if buyers read the description or item condition report to see if there are any defects or something missing mentioned in the listing.
Can feedback be passed on to the correct team that is creating more returns/unpaid offers which cost a small business time and money dealing with.
dave@ebay
Hi @returns_andexdisplay
I haven't heard of it happening till now but its great feedback. Ill pass this back to the Development Team.
Thanks,
Dave

·3 years agoHi can someone please ask the relevant team to look into my account there's something seriously wrong with it I contacted ebay yesterday but I don't think she understood . My sales have virtually stopped , my listings quality report is telling me to post faster..... I post same day! My premium badge disappeared from all but 35 of my listings halfway through 2nd April and I've lost the credits. My account is top rated every month no defects and i use the same postage & returns policies for all listings so there's a problem within as that doesn't make any sense?
kat@ebay
Hi @wearenowclosedthankyou ,
Have you made any recent changes to postage services offered on the listings where the premium service badge was removed?
Thank you,
Kat
wearenowclosedthankyou
·3 years agoThanks for your reply.
I changed all my listings from 2nd class signed for to RM tracked 48 in the hope of the premium returning but it didn't! I always had 2nd class signed and never had an issue plus it doesn't make sense when 35 qualify and all the others don't when they are all posted exactly the same?
kat@ebay
Hi @wearenowclosedthankyou ,
Something may have changed with regards to one of the postage options no longer qualifying but I will need to look into this. When did you make the change to all the listings? Can you also provide an example item number for one of the 35 listings that is showing the premium badge?
Thank you,
Kat
wearenowclosedthankyou
·3 years agoI don't think it's that as all are exactly same.... 185798646219 is still premium
185836842917 isn't premium.......
kat@ebay
Hi @wearenowclosedthankyou ,
Thanks for providing these. Leave it with me as it will need to be reviewed offline.
Thank you,
Kat

·3 years agoHello, we have an issue where by orders that are recieved and being sent to ecp collection addresses, ie argos etc are not being marked as dispatched we use a 3rd party linnworks who we have approcahed but they are pointing the issue on ebay's side (we can mark manually on the ebay platform) I have raised this with ebay support but thus far no response...
Kind Regards
dave@ebay
Hi @coopers-direct
We dont support 3rd party integration through here but the developer team should be able to have a look at whats happening.
You can register with them here and they should be able to help.
Thanks,
Dave

·3 years agoBack in June last year I asked about the fact that Royal Mail postage labels for standard 1st & 2nd class purchased through ebay show a 'tracking' number against the item.
This is NOT a tracked service - if you are lucky and it's scanned on delivery, it will show as delivered, but it's not tracked along the journey.
Kat was going to feed this back to the shipping team.
Was there ever any response about this, as it still shows as a 'tracking' number? It's very misleading.
Original question and response here:
https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Chat-with-the-eBay-Community/Weekly-Chat-with-the-eBay-Community-Team-22-06-22-2pm/m-p/7236644#M95
It would be good to get a proper response to these questions, otherwise it's not much point asking if we just get told (as we frequently do!), 'I'll pass it back to the appropriate team'.
kat@ebay
Hi @Anonymous ,
Yes we did feed this back when it was raised. Although it is a tracked service its not a fully tracked service. There is no current plans to make a change for this.
Thank you,
Kat

·3 years ago@kat@ebay
Thanks, Kat ... but it isn't a tracked service in any shape or form!
The screenshot below is from the ebay page where you purchase 1st & 2nd class lables ... 'Tracking - No'
Not only happy to lie to buyers about the seller's chosen despatch times, now it seems ebay want to lie about an item being tracked?
williabaxte7
·3 years agoHi I have had problems with paclink - Evri does not seem to update the tracking again . Very intermittent.
dave@ebay
Hi @williabaxte7
We did have a tech issue with this but it has been resolved. The tracking is now updating but in some cases its not updating immediately.
Is not updating at all for you now?
Thanks,
Dave

·3 years agoI read on the ebay pages you can have more than 1 ebay account with another shop subscription but only if you plan to sell different items or one for buying and one for selling so for example one account to sell flowers in a shop and another to sell TVs in a shop.
My question is would you be allowed a 2nd account and shop subscription selling the same type of item but in a different condition? For example one account sells the products used/refurb and the other account sells brand new/sealed.
The selling limits being used are less than 50% of what is allowed so the idea if allowed is to split the stock between used/new which has some benefits with our listing tools if it's done on 2 accounts rather than one.
kat@ebay
Hi @retrosweets ,
As you have mentioned eBay does allow users to have more than one account selling items but they need to be different products. The same product but with different conditions would need to be listed on the same account.
Thank you,
Kat

·3 years agoUnderstood. Thank you.
To check 1 account selling for example single books. Then a 2nd account selling books in bundles/wholesale job lots of 25 books per listing would be allowed or not?
kat@ebay
Hi @retrosweets ,
As they are the same product this would not be allowed. Having a 2nd account it should be different products that are being sold.
Thank you,
Kat

·3 years agoThank you so much for doing this and helping.
Please could you look into my ebay account and advise why you think our sales seem to come out at the similar volume on a regular basis some days exactly the same total and other days within a few £.
Example days:
Wed 1st March
Thur 2nd Mach
Thur 16th
Friday 17th
When you look over the month you will see higher days usually caused by using send offer tool but then you will see a drop after it. When you then look at the volume over 7 days you will see the average comes out and nearly exactly the same as the 4 example days above.
We have 60000 SKUs with different prices so it's not a case that we are selling the same item over and over.
Thank you so much for the help.
kat@ebay
Hi @retroclub ,
We are unable to provide 1-1 sales and growth conversations here and would recommend to reach out to customer support. This would allow time for your account to be reviewed in the detail you require and gain further insight.
Thank you,
Kat

·3 years agoThanks Kat. I've spoken to customer service who said the account has no issues but I didnt think anyone at ebay offered 1-1 sales and growth conversation help? Is this something someone at customer service can do?
kat@ebay
Hi @retroclub ,
It may be the case that when they reviewed the account when you made contact they saw no issues that would be impacting the sales. When in contact with customer support you can ask them to review your sales performance and listings for recommendations on improvement.
Thank you,
Kat

·3 years agoHi All,
I am still needing a reply from last week messages to dave@ebay regarding post https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Chat-with-the-eBay-Community/Weekly-Chat-with-the-eBay-Community-Team-05-04-23-2pm/m-p/7398822#M1207
Please could you advise?
Thank you
dave@ebay
Hi @retroclub
Apologies, I don't have an update on it yet. I'll chase it now and get back to you ASAP.
