·1 year agoGood afternoon
I note that on high value items, you are now stating that sellers must tick a signature is required otherwise we will not be covered even if the tracking shows delivered and a photo.
Does this apply to Global shipping as well?
Yodel do not do signatures, Evri only Royal Mail and often they will not take parcels that are big in size.
Best wishes
dave@ebay
Hi @lincolnshiremarine
If you use the Global Shipping Programme to post the order, then signature confirmation is not required, even if the order amount is above the threshold.
You can find more on the signature confirmation policy here.
Thanks,
Dave

·1 year agoReporting of Technical Issues
Apologies if this has been previously asked, but is there a quick way to report technical issues on eBay that doesn't involve the AI bot, waiting for a call back or posting in the weekly chat? There just appears to be a number of ongoing technical problems either in the desktop version or the app and it would be great if you could just click a single link to report an issue.
Many thanks 😊
marco@ebay
Hi @mygaras, thanks for your reply.
Not as of now, I'm afraid. If you're experiencing an issue, you'd need to contact our customer service team.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year ago@marco@ebay OK, thanks for the info. Might be worth thinking about as, without wishing to be rude, not all the CS team are able to process/understand the reporting of technical issues!
kat@ebay
Hi @mygaras ,
There isn't an option to report technical issues in this way currently. Due to the information required it would need an agent to review. However it is a good suggestion and I will share it internally to be considered to be implemented as a future change.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoHi,
A couple of things.
1. When you sort items by Lowest price it isn't working as it should, I suspect it's come about with the new buyer protection fees and seems to ignore the added fees when ordering items by price. My cheaper items are showing after some more expensive ones in the sort list. I know this has been raised by other sellers but can you update on when this will be fixed / confirm it is known about and being looked at? Business sellers may be missing out on sales if buyers haven't noticed that this function isn't working properly.
2. Email confirmations have changed again recently and no longer state the number of items remaining in stock, (not sure if it gives number of items sold if it were more than one of the same as haven't sold multiples but occasionally do). Is it possible to have this put back in? It was handy to have a quick stock check.
Thanks for your help. Katharine
kat@ebay
Hi @*kittylou* ,
Thank you for your questions. Regarding the first point we will check to see if this has been raised with tech and update accordingly. The issue with the quantity of items and sold number in the email confirmation was raised here recently on the weekly chat. After following up with our internal teams it was confirmed as a design change. We have made them aware of the need for the detail from users and they advised there will be future enhancements.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoIs there a reason why when I create a new listings the parcel size and weight box is no longer there?
How will this affect returns?
marco@ebay
Hi , thanks for your question.
This is currently under investigation as a few accounts have reported the same, we are not exactly sure whether this is an update or technical issue. Once I find out more about this, I'll be happy to let you know here.
Thank you,
Marco
marco@ebay
Hi , thanks for your patience on this.
I've just got an update on this, and this is a technical issue from our end. The feature will be back on once the issue in question is resolved, I wasn't confirmed an estimated fix time, but as soon as I get further updates on this, I will let you know.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoHi
Not sure if this is a known issue. But when listing new items, the returns policy ( for business accounts ) is automatically set to returns not accepted. Have to keep manually turning it on
Thanks
marco@ebay
Hi , thanks for your post.
Have you just upgraded from private to business account by any chance? Normally, you wouldn't be able to list an item as a business seller without a return policy, so if you could share 1 or 2 item numbers where we can see this happening, I would appreciate it.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoGood afternoon
Any updates please regarding the issue I raised where we cannot add the same parcel tracking number to the same buyers if they purchased two items, but on two separate transactions on that same day.
I have been asking this for two weeks now, and others have raised the same query too, supplying evidence.
Dave was dealing with this, them Marco, after Dave claimed I have not provided information, which I did.
How long does it take to get issues resolved on eBay please?
Best wishes
dave@ebay
Hi @lincolnshiremarine
This issue has been raised with the shipping team. We don't have an update as of yet but as soon as we have more from them, we will post an update.
Thanks,
Dave

·1 year agoGood afternoon Dave
I appreciate your reply, but do you think it is acceptable to have to wait over two weeks for this issue to be resolved. What do eBay suggest sellers do in the meantime with regards this issue.
Best wishes
dave@ebay
Hi @lincolnshiremarine
When we report an issue, it goes into a queue to be actioned. Depending on the impact it has on site and the number of users that are reporting it there can be a delay on how long it takes to be actioned. This can sometimes push the request down the queue.
I'm not aware of any workaround for the issue but if we are given any further guidance on the issue I'll share it as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Dave

·1 year agoSimple Delivery
Hi
Just a quick note of concern regarding the cost of Simple Delivery, which has now started appearing as an option on my listings. The explanatory notes for SD state that it offers buyers ‘Competitive Rates’, but I’ve just made a quick comparison, and looking at the rate charts, it’s really not that competitive as there appears to be no Royal Mail Small Parcel equivalent in Simple Delivery. As most of the items I have for sale fall within this parcel size and weigh up to 2kg, the postage cost will be 88p more through SD than through RM’s Click and Drop website (my current method of buying postage) with lower compensation cover (£100 on Simple Delivery vs. £150 with Click and Drop). Unless I’m missing something?
I currently offer free postage on my listings, and would be happy to continue to do so if SD becomes mandatory, but not if it means it will cost me 88p more per parcel than it should actually cost. I have already adjusted all my prices to swallow the new Buyer Protection Fee (thus making it in reality, a Seller’s Final Value Fee) but really can’t afford to pay extra for something which I don’t need to. Obviously, I could reduce all my prices again and opt for the buyer to pay the postage, but why should they be penalised and charged 88p more than the service should actually cost?
ps. Evri is not an option for a number of reasons. And even if I was prepared to accept both couriers, it’s still an increase of 32p on my current postage cost.
I’m just concerned that by not offering Royal Mail’s Small Parcel rates on Simple Delivery, this will just be another nail in the coffin for eBay buyers/private sellers. I hope that I can be convinced otherwise 😊
Thanks!
marco@ebay
Hi @mygaras, thanks for your input.
This is good feedback, so I will make sure to pass this on, so it can be taken into consideration. However, please note that, this doesn't necessarily means that actions around this will be taken.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoThanks @marco@ebay , that would be much appreciated, especially if SD becomes mandatory. Like many sellers have previously stated, if SD becomes mandatory, it really won't be viable to sell on eBay 😕

·1 year agoHello Team
From Friday to Sunday there was a some sort of tech glitch which hid my shop and all my listings for 48 hours.
It was reported by many sellers across boards
Any recompense ? Or apology?
Thanks
Jo
dave@ebay
Hi @bojangled
There was an issue with this over the weekend which the Tech Team identified and rectified as soon as they became aware of it. It has now been resolved, apologies for any issues this may have caused you.
Thanks,
Dave

·1 year agoGlobal Shipping Programme
Hi
Would it be possible to provide an update on the issues with GSP please? Yesterday, I read a number of reports on the forum of GSP having not been working since 4th February and so checked my own listings. Unfortunately I discovered that, as other members have stated, GSP is not currently functioning as it should, on my listings. Oversees buyers are no longer able to see how much postage will be to their country and instead are being prompted to read the item description or contact the seller. I'm guessing that my own listings have been like this since 4th February therefore, this is another blow to my much beleaguered sales.
I’ve double checked, and can confirm that GSP is enabled on my account and on the relevant Postage Policy.
Many thanks!
marco@ebay
Hi @mygaras, thanks for your post.
We are aware of this, and we are working towards it to get it resolved. However, we still don't have an estimated fix time, I'm afraid. If you want, once this is resolved, we will let you know.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoHi @marco@ebay
Aw it's a shame that there's no timescale for a fix. It would be fantastic if this could be sorted as I would like to implement GSP on my business account but it's just not worth it at the moment. An update would be much appreciated as soon as you have one 👍.
Thanks!

·1 year agoNow that couriers, like Royal Mail, are beginning to implement the Windsor Framework, what steps are eBay, if any, taking to deal with sellers who continue to sell to Northern Ireland/EU without proper information like having a “responsible agent” within the EU as well as bypassing other things like multiple language descriptions on their items as per GPSR Compliance which we were told would come into effect last year?
kat@ebay
Hi @custom-giftsuk ,
Ebay do their own internal reviews on accounts for such policies. Listings being hidden are one of the actions taken for this policy. If you have listings in breach of the policy you can report them through the site.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoThank you for that Kat, what would be the steps for that please as I cant see anywhere that would be considered a report seller for breaching GSPR guidelines?
kat@ebay
Hi @custom-giftsuk ,
There isn't anything specific to GSPR as Ebay will primarily do internal reviews themselves. The closest option would be under search and can fill in an explanation however there would be no guarantee it would get picked up for that policy.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoOk thank you Kat, I'll raise this at a later time in a suitable way.
We were all told several months ago that we had to follow GSPR or remove ourselves from shipping to NI/EU if if we didnt follow GSPR on pain of having our accounts restricted. Now it's a case of a large percentage of sellers are ignoring eBay's restrictions on GSPR and there is no action taken that we can see. So essentially those that did follow the rules are being punished by not being able to sell into those territories as per eBay rules and UK/EU law, whilst those that ignored those directives are getting away with breaking those rules and eBay are looking the other way, despite only this week informing people to follow GSPR as per the Winsor accords which eBay did actually send out an email and have it at the top of their announcements
The Windsor Framework comes into effect 31 March 2... - UK eBay Community
kat@ebay
Hi @custom-giftsuk ,
I understand your point and with the introduction of the Windsor Framework it will bring these regulations into review. I will share this as feedback with our policy teams.
Thank you,
Kat
