·1 year agoCan Ebay add the option to simply enter the FINAL price, instead of the pre-BPF price, on the listing page?
So sellers can set the final price they want to sell at including the BPF.

·1 year agoCan you give me guidance as to how the international visibility fee works please? Two of your customer service agents have told me its really no longer relevant as all items with worldwide international postage options are included on ebay.com? I really need an update and list to the info given in the 30-01-2015 titled "Message for sellers: Changes to International Site Visibility Fees" !
dave@ebay
Hi @*violet.sky*
If I remember correctly, the international visibility fee used to be an option to show your listings on other regions in the main search results and not at the end of the list in the separate section. I believe this was removed some time back.
You can now either list actively on the other region (and possibly have another listing fee but this gives a boost in best match) or passively by either using GSP or adding postage to you listing for the relevant region.
You can find more information on our selling internationally page.
Thanks,
Dave
*violet.sky*
·1 year agoThanks but this is very concerning as the fee is still an option to sellers and I've been paying it on 99% of my listings, even yesterday! Why is ebay offering it if its an outdated upgrade? Can I claim my fees back?
dave@ebay
Hi @*violet.sky*
You will need to speak to customer support on that one. It's possible that its still on listings that have been auto renewing, sometimes they system will allow the option to remain active until you edit or end the listings. If you're being charged you should still get the boost but CS should be able to confirm this for you.
Thanks,
Dave

·1 year agoRegarding simple delivery, the new update today suggests that we should be able to see the various size / weight bands on the active listings page, ie:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/lst/active
Is that the case and if so should we be able to see that now or only after the 20th or only if the account has been moved to mandatory simple delivery?
Will it also be possible to edit those bands in the bulk editing page? (ie the page you get to if you select all > edit from the active page)
marco@ebay
Hi @wellingnorth, thanks for your post.
In the announcement we sent, we didn't say the layout of the page would be updated, and that's as much information as we can share for now. However, you won't see any changes before they take effect, which is on May 20th.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoThanks for this Marco I think understand now, I'm not sure I'd read the message as intended.
So the promotional pricing which lets you send medium parcels at the small parcel rate ends on the 20th and only after that point there will be new functionality on the active listings page to show / edit the size / weight bands?
So on or after the 20th sellers should use the active listings page to check their listings for any that are marked medium parcel but could be sent cheaper as small parcels.
marco@ebay
Hi @wellingnorth, thanks for your reply.
The changes that will apply are only the ones sent in the announcement, no more than that, and that will only be from May 20th. Then you can make changes if you want in order to offer better prices to your buyers.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoWhy not just leave simpleton delivery optional for those new to eBay coming over from the place eBay are trying to be and let everyone else who has figured out how to post their stuff the way that suits them ( and has done for over 20 years)?
kat@ebay
Hi @cyclingjason090 ,
Appreciate your feedback and we understand new changes can take time to adjust and implement. It won't be optional but eBay will continue to work on adding great features for Simple Delivery.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoPlease could you start by letting us continue to use 2nd class Royal Mail for large letters under 100g? When I sell an item for under £5, a postage cost of £2.74 instead of £1.55 is a huge increase in total price. A totally tracked service isn't necessary for low value items, but you still get a RM tracking number for 2nd class when bought online, and nearly all of these are scanned when delivered.
kat@ebay
Hi @emw-designs ,
I understand as per your examples. I will share this feedback with our shipping team. I cannot guarantee a change but will share the these examples.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year ago"Hi @jimthing
Thats a good suggestion, I can definitely see how it would help. I'll pass this over to the site team and ask if it's something they can implement or even add something to help pages that can do the calculation for you.
Thanks,
Dave "
Dave, it's a spreadsheet formula we specifically need. There is a third-party website that can give the answer, but this cannot be implemented on our own spreadsheets.
Another suggestion would be to add the option to simply enter the FINAL price, instead of the pre-BPF price.

·1 year agoQ Now listing a trade card for £5.00 this will fit in a letter but still no option for letter with simple delivery but it shows a postage price of £1.55 ? large letter ? can you tell us what it going no and is this price available for other large letters ?
kat@ebay
Hi @dantwocats ,
Can you share this draft listing for the trading card?
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoHI I would but ,, The file DSCN7048.JPG exceeds the maximum file size of 2000K. Reduce the file size and try again.,, and have no clue how to , but there is the custom option as well as the £1.55 SD price so will this option with custom postage be staying ? this is still hit and miss with the postage , should not have mess with the old live listing and just started SD with new ones,
kat@ebay
Hi @dantwocats ,
Can you share the link to the draft listing or active listing if its active?
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoCould you extend the exemption for Simple Delivery for low value letter-sized items to include large letter under 100g? A lot of my items fit into this category, and I currently send them 2nd class Royal Mail for £1.55. An expensive fully tracked service isn't necessary for these items. I will no longer be able to sell these items on ebay once I have to use Simple Delivery.
marco@ebay
Hi @emw-designs, thanks for your post.
Thanks for your input, we will pass this on to the relevant team, so this can be taken into consideration. However, as advised before, please note that this doesn't necessarily means that the changes suggested will be added.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoGood afternoon again Kat, just one last thing, the automatic feedback is a great idea and welcome, thanks. Is it possible that ebay introduce a few different comments, rather than just the one generic ‘Order completed successfully - tracked and on time,’
Kind Regards Charlie
marco@ebay
Hi @cz1266, thanks for your post.
Thanks for letting us about this, I'll pass this on for you no problem, so this can be taken into consideration. However, please note that this doesn't necessarily means that changes will be made around the suggestion/feedback in question.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoAfternoon team,
Just a quickie, my percentage has dropped to 99.8% since receiving automated feedback. Only a year old negative is hanging around while I’m at 99.9%.
I know it’s a silly 00.1% but visually it’s not pretty, am I being penalised for buyers not leaving fb?
Ty
Jo
dave@ebay
Hi @bojangled
Feedback is always a tough one. As that negative is from so long ago It should hopefully fall off the calculation soon. Automatic feedback should also help with the calculation though. As you receive more the effect of that negative should get watered down.
Thanks,
Dave
bojangled
·1 year ago@dave@ebay but that’s what I don’t understand, % went down upon receiving automated feedback, you’ve just said it should help? 🤷
Jo
dave@ebay
@bojangled The evaluation is a rolling window, so older positive feedback also falls out of the calculation. Unfortunately, this can sometimes cause the one negative to have a bigger impact if the number of new positives is less than the number that fell off.
Luckily in your case there is only one negative so it will hopefully be gone soon, and you'll be back to 100%.
Thanks,
Dave

·1 year agoNot question but a suggestion off extending your delivery/shipping date, due too illness, I recently had over bank holiday weekend sever sickness that resulted in me landing in hospital for treatment, I was forced to pay someone to pack and dispatch my sales. With a facility to extend this date I would not have needed to.
I am a sole trader on my own so if I am ill, ebay want to punish me for that!
A facility that would mirror ETSY's system, I had sale on there extended no problem and dispatched on time on ebay it is not available, Why?
marco@ebay
Hi @moldosgifts, thanks for your post.
We're sorry to hear about that, I hope you're doing better now. I've taken notes of your feedback, and I will be passing this on for you no problem. However, under this exceptional circumstances, you can contact our customer service team if this impacted your account, and they will review that for you to see if further actions can be taken in order to help you with that.
Anything else, please feel free to let us know.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoThank you so much for you well wishes unfortunately a call to CS was not possible. But i appreciate you passing this forward thank you. perhaps have them take a look at how etsy deal with these scenarios by just extending the dispatch date up to 7 days, which would have been fine for me.
marco@ebay
No problem at all @moldosgifts, happy to help, I will let them know that as well. If it was only 2 or 3 orders that were impacted, I can send it for review myself, otherwise you'd need to contact our customer service team just when you can, so they can look into it for you.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoI use Royal Mail and the rates announced earlier today are confusing - it looks as if a 0-1kg package is £3.64 and a 1-2kg package is £3.38 i.e cheaper than a lighter package, if I am reading correctly. I obviously don’t want buyers to have a problem so would like clarification please.
kat@ebay
Hi @caerleon1959 ,
eBay are introducing a 0- 2kg small parcel size lower price point. Its not yet live as its taking affect from the 20th of May.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 year agoThank you - the rates I mentioned are what is shown in the new charge rate shared by eBay today?
kat@ebay
Hi @caerleon1959 ,
Thank you. I have just checked the rates part and it does show £3.38 for 1-2kg and £3.64 for 0-1kg. Let me get that checked and I will come back to confirm.
Thank you,
Kat
kat@ebay
Hi @caerleon1959 ,
Confirming that the rates are incorrect and this will be fixed as soon as possible. They are working on updating the page.
Thank you,

·1 year agoCan Ebay give us a spreadsheet formula we can use for ALL tiers of Buyer Protection Fee (BPF), to get the pre-BPF price to enter in the price box on listings?
Many threads exist like this one below, and no one has been able to make one that takes us near to a correct price for all three tiers (<300, 300 to 4000, 4000+)
https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Seller-Central/New-Fees-calculation/m-p/7846330
i.e. If we want to sell an item for 349.95 FINAL price, we need to know the price without the BPF to enter on the listing.
dave@ebay
Hi @jimthing
Thats a good suggestion, I can definitely see how it would help. I'll pass this over to the site team and ask if it's something they can implement or even add something to help pages that can do the calculation for you.

·1 year agoDave, its a spreadsheet formula we specifically need for our own spreadsheets. We have a third-party website that can work out the answer for us, but that can't be implemented on our own spreadsheets; hence a formula is needed.
An additional suggestion is to add the option of just adding the FINAL PRICE we want in the price box, and then have Ebay take the fees OFF that, rather than only the other way around we have now (pre-BFP price then Ebay add the BFP to it).
dantwocats
·1 year agoQ in the message to us today Why are we now being asked to review and amend our live listing do to eBays simple delivery mess of the parcel sizes & Q why is the no mention of letter and large letter options for lower price items,
marco@ebay
Hi @dantwocats, thanks for your question.
What message exactly are you referring to? Regarding your 2nd question, that's just the way Simple Delivery works. Large letter is available, however, depending the scenario, the option might not come up for certain orders.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year ago@marco@ebay @dantwocats
This part of the email
“After listening to your feedback about the services that matter most to you, we’re introducing ‘0-2kg small’ parcel size options to provide you with a lower price point. We recommend reviewing and amending your live listings that use small or medium parcels from 20 May, to make sure you’re offering your buyers the best prices”
marco@ebay
Thanks for your reply, @dantwocats.
It was only a recommendation to review your listings, you don't have to if you don't want to. However, we recommend doing so, as that way you can offer more competitive prices.
Thank you,
Marco
dantwocats
·1 year agomy postage was already competitive ,and its this fiddling with my old live listing thats a real pain , and they are doing it again ?
marco@ebay
Thanks for your reply, @dantwocats.
If you think that your prices are competitive as it is, then you can just leave them as they are right now. As advised before, this is only a recommendation only, so no need for you to do so if you don't want to.
Thank you,
Marco

·1 year agoGood afternoon and thanks for providing a place for us ebay sellers and buyers to contact you. I am using Simple Delivery with no problems, but would ask can ebay think about changing the system where once we download the QR Code the item is being marked as dispatched,
Over the Easter Bank Holiday, when I downloaded the QR Code late on the Saturday, the item was marked as dispatched where in fact the parcel could not be sent until the following Tuesday three days later. Perhaps a marked as dispatched button as with the older style posting system.
Kind Regards Charlie.
kat@ebay
Hi @cz1266 ,
Thank you for your feedback on the marked as dispatched for Simple Delivery. We'll share this with the development team for review.
