Summary: butlin2006 expressed frustration with eBay's Resolution Centre, feeling that it prioritizes case closure over fair resolution. They shared a negative experience involving a disputed return fee, where despite assurance of a full refund, they were later told to pay the return fee for an item not as described. They criticized the process for being slow, marked by poor communication, and lacking effective support, leading to diminished confidence in eBay's buyer protection.
I am extremely disappointed with eBay’s Resolution Centre. It feels like customer support is more focused on closing cases than actually resolving them fairly. Despite providing clear evidence for a disputed return fee with a seller and Ebay resolution centre confirming I would receive a full refund on 22nd June they have now said I have to pay the return fee even though the item was not as described and does not fit, leaving me out of pocket and frustrated. I was told on 22nd June via web chat - “If anything goes wrong be assured you're fully covered by eBay Money Back Guarantee and we will help you get this resolved”. - UTTER LIE!
The process was slow, communication was poor, and it was difficult to speak to anyone who could genuinely help. I expected better buyer protection from such a large marketplace.
The Resolution Centre should be more honest, review evidence more carefully, and provide better support when disputes arise. Based on my experience, I have little confidence in relying on it if problems occur in the future.

·1 month agoI'm guessing you opened a "doesn't fit" reason.
If that's correct then you are liable for return cost as it is classed as a "change of mind" situation.
From Ebays pages :- " Business Sellers: Under UK law (Consumer Contracts Regulations), business sellers must accept change of mind returns if you notify them within 14 days of receiving the item. You will be refunded the cost of the item plus the cheapest available original postage method, but you must pay the return shipping costs yourself.".
