Stalled Purchase and loss of Data Security
Summary: gearcrasher described a complicated issue with a recent purchase of an RC model from a seller on eBay UK. After receiving the wrong item due to misdelivery by FedEx, they struggled to return it because the provided return label lacked digital clearance. Attempts to resolve the issue with the seller and eBay were unsuccessful, with eBay requiring the item's return to proceed. gearcrasher also received emails not intended for them. Other participants advised to open a formal case or repeatedly request help from eBay support.
This is a long unresolved saga I'll make as short as possible.
I bought an RC model from a seller on EBayUK on 24/7/26. Sold as Returns not accepted.
After FEDEX defaulting on a delivery day and a complete miss on their following day delivery slot, I belatedly on 5/8/26 received a damaged package which I made the delivery driver photo and report.
I opened the outer packing to see if the item was actually damaged to find it wasn't the model I had ordered, not even close. An enclosed packing note WAS for the model I had ordered.
All the seller would offer was to return the wrong item and be refunded at some future date when the wrong model arrived with them. Via EBay only on my request a return label was made available.
On trying to return this wrong item at a FEDEX collection point, it was refused as it "does not have digital clearance paperwork"
And that is where its stalled. The seller has not come up with a solution. They are the EU arm of a large US seller, they cannot come up with a solution either.
EBay's system won't allow me to gain any other action or contact until I return the "no returns" item, FEDEX will not accept what I was provided to do so. Requests to both the US and EU arms have brought no solution. And the end of EBay support is fast approaching.
ALL THIS TIME (5th August to 26th August) I have been receiving mails to inform on ordering, despatch and delivery for OTHER PEOPLE and other models. These have MY Email address attached, including in their BILLING details.
Neither the US nor the EU arms of MotionRC have resolved this. 20 days from delivery.
How do I actually contact anyone at EBay to resolve this?

OP2 weeks agoI have now managed through repetitive persistence as advised here to get chat contact to a person. Now on a further 5 day wait for seller to resolve the issue before action by EBay.
Doubt that'll have any good effect given I have made numerous contact messages to promises but no result, but hey, the process is the process.
Its now been finally admitted by the parent US company that I was correct and allegedly a person within their EU operation was selling on EBay without they claim their knowledge or permission. This is after two weeks of me trying to get action, passing clear evidence, and still being disbelieved and ignored.
The issue is that he still has items within this issue on sale in EBay today. His actions only came to light when I was sent the wrong model and tried to get this corrected through EBay contact to seller and when that failed through the main US arm of the company.

OP2 weeks agoA case was opened with EBay who contacted the seller who then provided a returns label that FEDEX will not accept (no digital paperwork for order). Cannot get any further, seller has not replied to several subsequent messages, EBay are not contactable, and are effectively threatening end of their involvement if I do not return the item - when I cannot!

·2 weeks agoI think you have to keep trying to speak to someone at ebay, which I know is not easy. After clicking on help type in "speak to agent" and keep repeating.
