Sellers sending items by "at your own risk " Courier ?

Just dodged a bullet there and luckily I noticed Seller has Evri as the Postage method .
Evri couriers refuse to deliver to my address because I live on the 3rd floor of a Tenement and apparently they are not paid enough to walk up stairs which is bad enough but in this case the item I nearly ordered was a record .
Evri clearly state in their terms and conditions that "VINYL RECORDS" are exempt from loss or damage compensation . Evri couriers are well known for bending and snapping records in half to put through letter boxes knowing that there is nothing the customers can do about it.
When listing Vinyl Records surely Sellers should be unable to have Evri as the courier ?.
Records along with numerous other items, watches,all electrical items , anything made of glass,ceramic,stone ,wood and practically everything except clothing are on the exception list which means sending those items is at your own risk .
If Ebay cannot stop Sellers using Evri to send exempt items there should be a warning that you are buying at your own risk .
Why any decent Seller of Records would send records by a courier that does not offer compensation for loss or damage is beyond comprehension .

·3 weeks agoYou are correct that Evri doesn't provide cover for records but buyers are protected by eBay's Money Back Guarantee not the terms of the carrier. It is, therefore, the seller who isn't protected unless they are using eBay's Simple Delivery in which case they are protected by eBay under the terms for that instead.

·3 weeks agoI had a buyer yesterday elsewhere who bundled 6 chunky clothing items, 18 VHS tapes, 1 PlayStation game, 1 vinyl record and 1 comic book. They chose Evri for it, it was a challenge to pack it took 20 minutes but they won’t be breaking anything in this. I appreciate it when buyers just trust the seller to know what they are doing as we don’t want things breaking either. If we don’t care then our feedback would reflect that and then ok maybe it’s worth questioning but not as a general rule or barring us from using couriers.

·3 weeks ago · EditedI’ve sent lots of vinyl records with Evri. Not my first choice but buyers selected that courier on another site I sell on. I’ve never sent one out where it is feasible to bend it by hand in the way you’re describing and had no damage done to any of them.
Any decent seller on eBay using Evri will have calculated that their packaging will survive transit and any occasional lost parcels in the grand scheme of things will be covered by the amount they are saving per parcel.
I would prefer to use Royal Mail for records but if it’s a case of saving somewhere between £1 to £1.50 per parcel by using Evri not every seller can afford to ignore that reality.
