seller tied to scam me with a fake mobile phone
Summary: brfra-8733 shared their experience of purchasing a Samsung S22 Ultra from a seller who falsely claimed to be based in Europe, but the phone was shipped from China and turned out to be counterfeit. Despite initial difficulties with a partial refund, eBay eventually provided a full refund. brfra-8733 expressed frustration with the seller's negative feedback not affecting their listing despite multiple scam reports. cobwebcottage cautioned against buying electronics from untrustworthy sellers and noted the risks of feedback removal according to eBay's rules. The conversation highlighted issues with eBay’s enforcement of selling rules and feedback policies.
So I bought a " Brand New Sealed In Box " Samsung S22 ultra from a seller supposedly based in Lichtenstein Europe, first red flag was a tracking number from China 🙄 so i messaged the seller and asked them to confirm the phone was actually brand new in a sealed box and they replied " yes my friend brand new unused dont worry my friend " well it arrived a week later and the first think i noticed was the box was shrink-wrapped, Samsung dont shrink wrap boxes, I opened it and the phone looked brand new until I switched it on and it had a low resolution aftermarket crappy screen, i immediately phoned eBay customer services to report the scam and they showed little interest but advised a return which I did right away with images showing the poor quality screen, fake box security seals shrink wrap etc i also pointed out the misleading listing, the seller provided a UK return label and it was delivered 3 days later and instantly the seller refunded half the funds saying i had returned the phone with scratches all over it, needless to say i was absolutely raging and immediately appealed and to give eBay their due within, 10 mins they had found in my favour and given a full refund, me still being realy annoyed I reported the listing for all the obvious issues along with images and my experience, within 30 minutes customer services reported they found no issues with the listing but that i could appeal which i did, 2 hours later they reported no issue with the listing.......CASE CLOSED 🙄
so a proven scammer, liar and fraudster going against many of eBays selling rules gets away with it to scam even more people, his feed back now has many negatives from buyers like me which weren't there when i made the purchase.
I am a bit lost for words..................😒

·3 weeks agoFirst, why would anyone buy an electronic item from a seller in China when you do not have any Consumer Protection?
Second, the Ebay money back guarantee works when used correctly but you are only protected for 30 days so if anything went wrong after 30 days, you are on your own.
Third, you need to read Ebays feedback policy as the feedback which you have left the seller could easily be removed. You cannot call a seller a scammer, liar and fraudster, even if that's what you think.

·3 weeks agoBusiness is registered in CHINA which can be found if you looked on their about information.
And no, you can't call a seller what you want if you read the rules. You will soon be moaning again if your feedback gets removed.
