Seller reports no service available on address
Summary: geowest-74 is facing an issue with an eBay purchase where the seller reports no service is available for shipping to their usual UK address. This problem hasn’t occurred before, and attempts to cancel the order and reorder have failed as the seller claims they cannot process the cancellation. boundarycoins suggests that the issue might be related to address format or courier choice, and explores possibilities like the nature of the item requiring custom handling. Despite suggestions and a rejected cancellation request, geowest-74 is considering writing off the purchase if undelivered by the expected date.
I purchased an item using my normal address in the UK as Ebay fills it in when I put it in shipping addresses. This has worked for me with several items before however the seller reported this time they had a problem with the pre-paid label for shipping. They said it comes up with no service available.
I've checked and it's my usual address so I'm not sure if something has changed. I've asked the buyer to cancel the item so I can try re-ordering it but they say they can't cancel. They said they tried contacting Ebay and that Ebay said they'd work with me but I can't reach anyone from the site except the ai chatbot. Is there anyway to sort this out?

·6 days agoIf it is simple delivery and they can’t generate a label they are genuinely stuck.
If it isn’t, they might be able to sort this out by changing courier.
Do you live in a remote location?

No idea why this is suddenly an issue

·6 days agoIf you go to the listing what applies for the postage? Does it say standard tracked delivery or something else?
geowest-74
OP6 days ago · EditedIt says standard tracked delivery and the courier is Royal Mail

·6 days agoThe seller is unable to adjust the address in any way with simple delivery. If there was something preventing the label being generated like a postcode not being spaced properly or one line having too many characters they can’t fix it. I’m not sure eBay could make alterations now either tbh…
It is odd as you have had no issues previously but from the sounds of it they may have no alternative but to cancel. I’m not sure why they say they can’t cancel other than the reason being that they would prefer you to put the cancellation request in.

·6 days ago · EditedWas the item something which may have age verification restrictions on delivery such as a bladed items like a saw or even cutlery etc. I am reaching for other reasons than a simple address issue.
