Seller claiming I swapped returned AirPods (arrived Apple ID locked) – Advice needed
Summary: biggerboystoys is seeking advice on how to handle a return issue with a seller on eBay. They purchased AirPods Pro 2, which arrived activation locked. Despite returning them to the seller, the seller claims they received a different pair. biggerboystoys is concerned about this accusation and wants to know if eBay's Money Back Guarantee will support them and how to effectively escalate the case.
Hi everyone, looking for advice on how to handle a return issue:
11 Sep: Bought a pair of AirPods Pro 2 on eBay UK.
14 Sep: Delivered. Immediately tried to pair them, but they were Activation Locked to the seller's Apple ID ("Paired to someone else's Apple Account").
14 Sep: Messaged seller at 1:46 PM. Seller told me to reset them, but reset doesn't remove Apple ID activation lock. Opened a return case same day for "Item Not as Described".
18 Sep: Seller finally accepted the return.
21 Sep: Tracked return delivered back to seller. Seller immediately messaged claiming I sent back a completely different, damaged pair with non-matching serial numbers.
I sent back the exact physical items received. I have 100% positive feedback, a complete message history on eBay showing the lock issue from hour one, tracking proof, and screenshots.
Will eBay support me under MBG if the seller tries to withhold my refund using this claim? What is the best way to present my case when escalating?
Thanks for any help!

·1 week agoYou are protected from receiving items not as described and have done the right thing by opening a case and returning the items.
You will receive a full refund. I would not worry about the sellers accusations. Just don't communicate with them anymore.
