Postage problem seller asking for more

I paid for a parasol base for garden including postage at £11.68 £6.47 plus £5.21 postage. I knew there would be a delay as seller away but no problem. Now seller says postage is not enough as it is heavier.
Im not sure what to do as I can’t see how to pay any extra and I certainly don’t want to pay any other way than the official way but I don’t know so far what amount. I am really not sure if I want to go ahead with this now or not or if I have any options.
I tried ringing eBay but despite getting through several time the automated lady didn’t understand and ended call!
Any advice help appreciated thank you

·2 weeks agoI think it is a cheek for any seller to ask for more postage. They ought to have made sure they had added sufficient postage in the first place. If they refuse to send it with the original postage cost, I would certainly get the seller to cancel the sale & relist - but unless you really want the item, I would not repurchase. And don't let them get you to cancel the sale - it is their mistake, so they should do the cancelling...

·2 weeks agoIf you don't mind paying the extra the seller should cancel the current transaction and relist with correct postage for you to buy again. Or you can tell them to cancel and leave it at that.
