Need help with appealing refund.
Summary: 9gjqv-66 is seeking advice on appealing an eBay refund decision. They initially thought they purchased the wrong item but later realized an important part, the USB wireless receiver, was missing from the product description. After eBay closed the case without a refund and no option to appeal, 9gjqv-66 is unsure how to proceed to have eBay review the situation again as the original return reason may have caused confusion.
Need some advice with an eBay refund
I originally opened the return because I thought I had bought the wrong item. The seller made me think I had misunderstood the listing, so I thought it was my mistake.
I then got someone else to look at it and they confirmed that an important part is actually missing, the USB wireless receiver/dongle.
The main issue is that the listing never mentioned anywhere that this piece was missing. If it had said that the USB receiver wasn’t included, I obviously wouldn’t have expected it to be there.
I explained this to eBay, but the seller denied the refund and eBay closed the case. I’m also not being given an option to appeal it.
What can I actually do now to get eBay to look at this again? It feels like the original reason for the return has confused the situation, because I only found out that an important part was missing after getting someone else to check it.

·2 weeks agoYou only get one chance at a return on eBay (Private Sellers can decline change of mind returns) so it is unlikely that you will be able to do anything further through eBay and, therefore, best to contact your payment provider now.
If you used PayPal then you have 30 days from date of delivery within which to open an 'Item not as described' dispute. If you paid with a debit/credit card or used Klarna then you have 120 days from date of purchase to file a Chargeback/open a dispute.
