Item with 1 year warranty failed after 5 months seller not responding
Hi, I purchased a Smart Ring and 5 months after buying it stopped turning on / off or charging. I tried to contact the seller regarding a warranty replacement he has not responded after 2 weeks and after 3 days following a 2nd attempt. eBay support doesn't help. It was purchased through PayPal, and this was funded through my credit card. According to the sale of goods act I should be able to get a refund, any advice as to the best approach?

If you bought the item from a UK Business Seller then you do have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 but those would need to be enforced via legal channels (Money Claim through the courts). If you purchased from a Private Seller then that comes under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 but the protection you have is far more limited. If you purchased from an overseas seller then, unfortunately, there is no legal protection.

·1 month agoBoth Ebay and Paypal only provide 30 day cover under their buyer protection schemes. You need to try your credit card company, they might not cover you either, you can but try.
