Item marked as delivered but it hasn't been.
Summary: podlingsmum shared an issue where their partner ordered three items from different sellers, but the most expensive item, a vinyl, showed as delivered despite not being received. A delivery photo only showed two items, and the Evri delivery person was seen with just those two. When raising a not received case, the business seller was unhelpful, relying on the tracking information. jonatjonatjonat suggested going to the payment provider instead of eBay, as payment providers might be more receptive. podlingsmum mentioned getting a crime number from the police for possible theft, which jonatjonatjonat agreed could support the case. The case remains open until the 7th, and it's suggested to add the crime number as evidence.
My partner ordered 3 items from 3 different sellers. 2 were simple delivery and not expensive, a cheap vinyl and a couple of cds. The item that hasn't been received is the more expensive item, a vinyl, from the business seller. Tracking shows delivery of all 3 and used the same delivery photo for all 3 despite there being just 2 items in the photo. The Evri delivery person was captured on camera holding the 2 items. My partner opened a not received case and explained the situation. The business seller is going by the tracking and is so far not helpful.
So what should he do to ensure he is not £70 out of pocket?

OP4 days agoMy partner has tried to get the business seller to look at the evidence and initially they said they would investigate which would take up to 14 days. Today they have said to go to eBay customer service for support and are not interested. My partner told them he has a crime number but they don't seem to care.

·6 days agoEBay will still believe the tracking showing delivery so you are probably better off skipping that step and going to your payment provider.

OP6 days agoI advised him to get a crime number from the police as it seems highly likely to be theft by the Evri delivery person. Is that not the right thing to do? Would the payment provider go by the tracking also?

·6 days agoDefinitely can’t hurt getting a crime number. EBay’s threshold is, from evidence on these forums “the tracking shows delivered” payment providers tend to be a little more believing. Gather as much evidence as you can (ie a photo showing two parcels and tracking with the third with the same photo (and it not being in the photo)
There is definitely something off as clearly something was scanned

OP6 days agoThe case for not received runs until the 7th. There is a crime number now so should it be added to the case?

·6 days agoHonestly don’t know if eBay take notice of crime numbers.
