FEEDBACK MISSING
Summary: 29metal expressed frustration with eBay's feedback system, questioning its effectiveness after leaving negative feedback on a product with a seemingly perfect rating. They noted discrepancies in product pricing and communication issues with the seller. roger_roger_over_and_nowt commented on the potential removal grounds for negative feedback, while sml192 clarified that current policies do not support removal unless the feedback is fake or misleading, citing consumer protection laws.
Has the Ebay feedback option now become a pointless process and a insult to a buyers intelligence. I have recently left a negitive feedback on an expensive product that supposedly has a 100% feedback although when you watch youtube reviews on the product people have had the same problems and dislikes about about the machine as I had ,now the reviews on youtube dont specify where the machine was bought so I am not saying or implying its a bad machine because it was bought on Ebay but is there a chance Ebay protects certain buyers , before I purchased the machine Ihad contacted the company directly and asked why they were selling the same machine on ebay for a different price the same machine was advertised one £60 cheaper than the other a buyer not watching could have easly spent £60 extra . There responce was very strange, they said that ebay set the price and advertising and that they had no control over it . When I pressed them more they then went into there broken English mode and hid behind that as a lot on Chinese companies resort to although when you are buying something their English and understanding of it seems to be perfect

·2 weeks agoSometimes it comes down to what a buyer says.If they mention "Ebay" or "refund" the seller can use that as acceptable grounds for removal.

·2 weeks agoNo, mentioning 'eBay' or 'refund' doesn't give sellers acceptable grounds to request removal (unless false) as neither of those things are mentioned, as reasons for removal, in eBay’s Feedback Policy anymore. Those terms used to be a valid reason for removal but that clause has now been removed frpm the Feedback Policy as removing negative feedback that isn't fake, false, or misleading is against current consumer protection law.

OP2 weeks agoThanks for your reply I never mentioned or wanted a refund just gave an honest review to help the next person who wanted to buy the same machine . I buy a lot of products online but usually use Amazon as there is never any problem returning anything and its free with prime. I can't see Ebay lasting much longer the whole experience buying on Ebay compared to Amazon is difference as day and night. With Amazon no quibble returns, easy to see feedback etc its worth paying a little bit extra
