Faulty and not as described item 3 months after purchase
Summary: ferraro_giuseppe is seeking advice on dealing with a faulty item purchased in May and installed in August, facing challenges as the return window has closed. They mentioned difficulties contacting the seller and issues with coverage through PayPal and eBay. sml192 responded, explaining that actions via PayPal and eBay are limited to 30 days and suggested considering a chargeback with the card issuer within 120 days of purchase. As the item was purchased overseas, options may be limited.
Hi there, wondering if I can get any help with an item I purchased in May and installed in August due to a delayed project. When the plumber tried to install the item realized it wad faulty. I tried to contact the seller and got no replies. Paypal does not cover and on ebay I struggle to find a way to get them to step in as the return window has closed. The item was purchased in the usa and I am in the uk. Seller's ad did not accept returns. I checked with the manufacturer and the item was manufactured in 2021, listed as new but after 5 year the warranty hss expired. Any ideas on how I could get any hep?

·1 week agoYou are too late to do anything through either eBay or PayPal as they both only provide 30 days from date of delivery for an 'Item not as described' claim. If you funded the purchase with a debit or credit card then you have 120 days from date of purchase to file a Chargeback with your Card Issuer. Beyond that, as it was purchased from an overseas seller, there will little that you can do unfortunately.
