False Evri attempt at delivery. Item being returned to seller after one attempt. No clear options to raise a case. Help please.
Summary: tliddle1 expressed frustration over a failed delivery attempt by a courier, despite being at home and aware of their surroundings. The tracking indicated the item was being returned to the seller, but eBay suggested waiting for delivery. sml192 reassured that the seller typically responds promptly and advised contacting eBay if no response is received after three days. cherrychopsticks2009 provided guidance on speaking to an agent by navigating through the help options and requesting a callback.
Hi all,
I was outside repairing my front gate this afternoon and when I got inside to check the progress of an Evri delivery scheduled to arrive today, I was met with a message saying the'd attempted to deliver. This is total and utter bull****. Not to my address they didn't, nor any of my neighbours' homes which are all clearly in view.
The problem is that Evri's own tracking says they're returning the item to the seller. There are no options to select to deal with this. I selected item hasn't arrived and get an auto-flannel message saying I need to wait. Why? What for? Evri's tracking says it's going back to the seller.
I don't expect the seller to reply to any messages promptly either, so how do I go about getting a refund due to Evri's legendary incompetence? Because I've reported that I haven't received the item, will further options become available to me in three days time, as per usual? It's so frustrating. Can't speak to anybody. Remember the good old days when you could speak to a human at ebay?
Any advice would be most gratefully received.

·2 weeks agoYou can speak to an agent. Go to help/comment which is usually at the bottom right and start with the bot. Then in the comments box write I want to speak to an agent and it will state they will contact you(mobile) within 2 minutes. They do ring you back

·2 weeks agoMusic Magpie are normally very good at responding to eBay cases. If they don't resp9nd within the 3 days then you will get the option to 'Ask eBay to step in and help'.

OP2 weeks agoThanks for your help. It certainly gives me some peace of mind. I've had several negative experiences with Evri/Hermes over the years. It's just frustrating when a courier's own tracking system states that an item's being returned to the sender but the ebay interface states that I just need to wait longer and that it may be delivered later or on another day. The two pieces of information just don't match. State of limbo :-)
