eBay invoice system keeps using the delivery address – now I can’t even contact the seller
Summary: galleksa is having issues with eBay's invoice system, where invoices are often sent to the delivery address instead of the billing address. Despite usually resolving this by contacting sellers, they are now unable to message a particular seller due to a potential block in eBay's messaging system linking back to old conversations. This problem is preventing them from correcting an invoice and continuing purchases. They are seeking advice on how to start a new conversation or resolve the messaging block and ask if eBay offers any assistance with this issue.
I really think eBay’s invoice system needs improving.
Quite often sellers issue an invoice using the delivery address instead of the billing/company address. Because of this, I regularly have to contact sellers after a purchase and ask them to correct the VAT invoice.
Normally this has worked, but recently I have had a problem with one seller I have bought from several times before. eBay keeps showing the old message conversation with that seller, and now whenever I try to send a new message I get:
“Send message failed. Please try again.”
I have tried contacting the seller from the latest order, from Purchase History and from the seller/listing page, but it always seems to link back to the same old conversation and the message will not send.
My guess is that eBay’s messaging system is somehow blocking the conversation because there are older messages or because the thread is too old.
This is particularly frustrating because the seller has again issued the invoice with the delivery address and I have no way to ask them to correct it.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to start a completely new message thread with a seller you have purchased from before, or to reset/unblock an old conversation?
