Just had the worst experience with eBay authentication team. Bought a Ted baker wool cashmere coat for £200. - I received it from the authentication team and it was completely screwed up and in a bit of a state to be honest so returned it to them. A couple of days later I was absolutely flabbergasted to see that they said I had worn the coat. They said there was hair and makeup on it and a mark on the front that wasn’t there I am so angry and annoyed. Can’t even wrap my head around it. We are going through the biggest heat wave Britain’s ever seen 30 to 35° degree and I think I wore a heavy wool coat not to mention there is a ribbon security tag running through the sleeve of the coat and all the way around the outside still attached. I’m so angry. I’ve tried and tried for the past few days to get somewhere. They said they have CCTV showing the coat wasn’t in that condition I said show me but oh no they don’t do that - the seller had actually only posted a picture of the tag of the coat which should have been red flag. The seller is the only person who had lucked out here. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

OP3 days agoYes it’s the authentication team because it went via the authentication. I had to return the code to them and they said I’d warn the coat in 30° heat with the security tag not just the security tag hanging on the tag. It’s a ribbon that goes all the way through the co and all the way round the coat sealed and attached one of the that say if you remove this I am yours forever that type of tag is actually ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous if I’d paid my credit card I would’ve got my bank to reverse it because I’m so so annoyed. I’ve got the coat back from the authenticators and it’s in the same condition that I sent it to them, which is how I received it screwed up looks like it’s been worn when it was it supposed to be brand-new with tags. I’ve been the seller on eBay for 20 years. I’ve actually removed all my items because I’m so angry, and I’m just gonna shut my account down.

·1 week agoYou have a right to return an item not as described so stick to your guns and wait for a refund. Don't engage in any conversation with the seller. CCTV does not prove anything.
