Are Royal Mail’s tracking shenanigans going to lose me money?

I ordered an item, no problem. I set it for collection. Gets to the day it’s meant to be delivered. Claims it was delivered to the collection point, then it was refused delivery, then pending waiting for delivery next day?
Now today, out for delivery, ready for collection, collected, returned to sender.
EBay’s tracking says it’s been delivered and collected, but not by me. I’m in contact with the seller who’s trying to help this out but I’m worried if I start an item hasn’t arrived case, eBay will just say it was collected and close the case. I’ve dealt with eBay before with tracking as a seller and according to the advisor as soon as there’s an attempted delivery even if it later says it wasn’t delivered on the tracking, that counts as delivered.
Am I screwed here? I paid via debit card too (stupidly).

At first parcel was refused.
Then out for delivery again.
Then refused again.
I had to refund the buyer.
So I now dont accept parcels to Argos etc.

·1 week agoYou need to talk to customer service and ask to speak to the click and collect team. It has been returned to the sender so the buyer should refund you.
Use the help and contact button at the top and keep putting 'agent' in the chat box until you get the option for a call back.

OP1 week agoI’ll try but it seems the ai bot keeps trying to bait me into starting an INR case, which I know will be immediately closed.

OP1 week agoSellers confirmed they do not have the parcel and is going to talk to Royal Mail and eBay tomorrow, I’ll also talk to eBay too once I get a chance and see if Royal Mail royally messed up or if it’s actually at collection.
