Accidentally selected "didn't match description" for return - how to change it?
Summary: aruz.88 is seeking help with a return process on eBay UK after mistakenly selecting "didn't match description" instead of "changed my mind" for a bicycle saddle return. They haven't submitted the return yet but are unable to change the reason. The seller is aware and suggested contacting eBay. aruz.88 tried the eBay chatbot but couldn't reach a human agent and is asking for advice on resetting the choice or alternative ways to handle the return.
Hi everyone,
I need some help with a return on eBay UK.
I want to return a bicycle saddle because it is too hard for me. It is just a "change of mind" return, and I want to pay for the return shipping myself.
However, while opening the return, I accidentally clicked "didn't match description". I have not finished or submitted the return yet. Now the system is stuck and won't let me change the reason back to "changed my mind".
The seller is very nice and knows about my mistake. They told me to contact eBay. I tried using the automated eBay Chatbot, but it did not help me, and I don't know how to reach a real human support agent.
Is there a way to reset this choice before submitting? Or should I just send the item outside of eBay directly to the seller?
Thank you for your help!

·1 month agoI would send it with the return label you have been given.
Check the listing. If it was buyer pays return, I’d send them £3.50 or something in cash in the parcel with an apology note. If the listing says seller pays return shipping then you don’t really owe anything, it’s just a bit rough on the seller who gets a strike for it but it’s done now I’m fairly sure it can’t be reversed.
