When is eBay going to acknowledge that there is a problem with the estimated delivery dates being shown for Royal Mail 2nd Class? This has been raised by sellers time and time again, yet whenever someone contacts eBay they are told the system is working correctly. I have contacted eBay myself and was told a ticket could be raised, but the likely response would be that the system is functioning as intended. Well, if this is working as intended, then the system is fundamentally flawed. I have attached a screenshot as an example. The item was purchased today, my handling time is set to 1 working day, and eBay is showing:• Dispatch by 3rd June• Estimated delivery 3rd–4th June How can an item dispatched on the 3rd also be delivered on the 3rd? Even if I dispatch the item today, which I will and always do for orders placed before 3pm, there is still a very low chance of it arriving between the 3rd and 4th using Royal Mail 2nd Class. I changed my handling time to 1 day in an attempt to make the estimates more realistic. It made no difference. I then tested with a longer handling time and the estimated delivery dates barely changed.Royal Mail advertises 2nd Class as a 2–3 working day service, yet eBay continues to show buyers delivery dates that are often significantly faster than what sellers are actually seeing in practice. Everyone knows Royal Mail 2nd Class is not consistently delivering next day. Many items take 2–5 working days and sometimes longer. Sellers have been saying this for months, if not years. The real issue is that sellers are the ones paying the price. Buyers see an unrealistic delivery estimate, the item doesn't arrive by the date eBay has promised, and the seller ends up dealing with INR cases, negative feedback, poor detailed seller ratings and damaged service metrics. Why are sellers being measured against delivery expectations that we did not set and have no control over? If eBay insists the system is working correctly, can someone explain how these estimates are being calculated and why they appear to bear little resemblance to the actual delivery performance of Royal Mail 2nd Class? At what point does eBay accept that inaccurate delivery estimates are creating problems for both buyers and sellers?
