Some of your emails couldn’t be sent
Summary: direct.gifts reported receiving an email claiming some of their messages violated policy and couldn't be sent, mentioning a specific customer. They investigated and didn't find any messages sent to that customer. greenangelx responded, sharing they received a similar email and after contacting customer service, learned it was an eBay glitch with no wrongdoing involved. direct.gifts was relieved to receive this information.
We have had an email today saying some of our emails couldn't be sent as they violated the member to member policy. It mentions sending promotions outside of ebay.
The email knows my name and also gives a customer email address which is one of our customers. Ebay say the message is not real as it doesn't appear in ebay messages . From everything I can see it appears to be real and not a phishing attempt
The customer they referenced placed 2 orders with us on the 26th August and both were sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 post. We have not sent any messages to this customer at all. We only tend to send messages if there is a problem with the order when we pick it or if the customer contacts us first with a problem.
We have a 3rd party stock management system which is capable of sending emails but we have always had this functionality disabled for ebay orders. The logs on the stock management system doesn't suggest an email was sent.
The only other source could be updates from Royal Mail direct to the customers email address...we haven't changed any Royal Mail settings though and it has worked the same way for years.
Anyone else had this warning email recently?

·1 week agoI got one this morning--another post on here says Ebay are confusing email addresses that are used with couriers on Ebay labels with direct communications between members outside of Ebay

·2 weeks agoGot one of these myself earlier today. Spoke to CS and they have been getting quite a few calls about these and confirmed that its an ebay glitch and nothing to worry about and you haven't done anything wrong.
