Sales Drop - Check Missing Items?
Summary: blueskystore777 shared their experience of a significant drop in sales and discovered missing Country of Origin (COO) information on 10% of their inventory. They corrected this issue and noticed gradual improvement. ascotscalemodels also checked for missing COO but found the listings were not missing it after all, suggesting a potential glitch. jlovie mentioned a similar past issue due to changes in the COO field, requiring them to clear and re-enter the data. the_brick_lodge asked for clarification on COO, which ascotscalemodels provided, explaining it stands for Country of Origin.
Like several other posters on here, I suffered a large decline and then drop in sales over the past couple of months. In searching around for some (any), action that I could take to actually (possibly), make any difference to the situation, I came across this:
Seller Hub, Check the 'Missing Items', column.
I found 144 listings with COO Missing. I dont know how items penalised from GSP inclusion, would be 'read' by any domestic algo serving but it's likely a strong negative weight.
Thats 10% of my inventory and has probably been causing some cumulative damage.
They've all be corrected now.
A week ago my 30days sales were 75% down. Today my 7 day sales are 217% up.
Seems it may have had an effect??
I offer this as something practical that may be worth checking.

OP1 month agoThere is sometimes a difficulty in finding the COO to edit it in the bulk editor as when the category changes took place it left mamy 'orphaned'. If your item(s) happen to be in now orphaned cats the editor may not offer the COO field. Its at this point that most people stop trying to beat the awful UI and give up! But there is a work-around. Select all your 'missing items' listings, then select them again on the edit button, now go along the column rows until you see the colum headed 'All Item Specifics'. Click any of the blue highlighted numbers and this will open the Master Item Specifics menu. The beauty of this method is you can do all your o/s listings in this menu. When you have edited the item you want and hit 'Save & Next', it takes you straight through to the next listing you need to edit, rather than having to go back to the main list and search along.

·1 month agoI noticed a similar problem a while ago when checking.
Most of it seemed to be listings from the time when the COO field was changed, when they had that whack-a-mole system with 2 interconnected fields.
I ended up having to clear the fields, save, and then re-enter the country.

·1 month agoI checked my listings for missing COO and found 41,I went to amend them but found they weren't missing COO after all ??? so don't know what's going on either another glitch or AI messing around again.
