Please eBay, don't push this new gallery on variant listings

So today I've noticed this new horrible gallery my listings using Firefox and Safari:
On Chrome it's still showing the old gallery which is good, and I am hoping the above is a test or mistake, but I am really concerned about this as all my listings are variant listings and it's not obvious to the customers that multiple prints are available under this new format.
Also:
When you click 'See all photos' and you click one of the images, it does not update the select drop-down like the previous gallery.
The 4 thumbnails you do show are below the fold of the page, therefore if a customer does not scroll (as many do), they will hit the back button if the variant they found in search is not showing by default
On tablet portrait it is even worse, nothing is telling the customer there are more images to scroll through
The UI is terrible and your devs have done a terrible job making it user friendly.
This will reduce conversions dramatically. Who are making these decisions? It's like you're determined to make the UK site unusable.
At bare minimal please provide an option in the edit listing module to disable this new gallery as the previous one works great for variant listings.

·2 weeks agoYeah, new view was fine for single products, but should have shown all 12 images without a lightbox interaction.
Absolutely needs a rethink for multi-variant listings.
Would relish them having a different design for each type of listing thouhg. Same for auctions.

·2 weeks ago · EditedHad another issue with it today, a seller had listed a faulty item but nowhere in the listing did it say what the fault was, turns out it was a broken screen which was shown in the photos, but as it only pushed the first 3 photos on you i hadn't clicked to load them all up and as such had missed the photos showing the damaged screen, annoyingly ill have to click to look at all photos from now on when previously they would all be easily seen. :/

·2 weeks ago · EditedYeah, now when you land on a multi-variant listing it isn't clear at all to the buyer its' a multi-variant listing - before they would see the thumbnails and be able to navigate variants that way too. It NEEDS a thumbnail row somewhere to control the main image/variants - look at ANY shopify theme or site, it's basic UX best practices.
If you land directly on a variant there is NO GALLERY OR THUMBSTRIP at all!
I built my store around this multi-variant setup, and now this backwards step has undone all my work on about 12,000 variants. Customers will land on the page, see one image, bounce off.
This is going to negatively impact the whole TRADING CARDS category who setup their listings this way.

OP2 weeks agoYes it just does not work for variations at all, and when you look at your before screenshots it worked so well and ebay "were" the only marketplace that did this well. They need to give us an option to enable the previous gallery, as like yourself my whole store is built around variants as it's the only affordable way in my category, and I can't see ebay lowering their shop fees. It's actually makes selling on a private account even more enticing as we could increase our inventory by 300 listings per month for free. It's infuriating and another kick in the teeth to all Business Sellers who follow the rules!

·2 weeks agoI don’t mind it, on single items it focuses on what is actually listed, more than other people comparable items at least. On variation listings you get to see more of what’s on offer.
Anything that draws attention to what I am selling rather than sponsored shops and the like is a bonus these days!

·2 weeks agoI don't have any variation listings but for single item listings I like it. What I'm seeing is a text link on the first photo to view them all that actually tells you how many photos there are before you click on it.

OP2 weeks agoYes I agree that for single item listings it work well and should be kept, but the old gallery would be better for variants because it has all the thumbnails on the side you can scroll through easily along with the prev/next arrows that allowed the end user to browse easily whilst it updated the dropdown selection automatically.
It would be nice if we had the option to choose the type of gallery for our listings.

·2 weeks agoI'd like the more photos link to be more prominent, or duplicated/moved to the bottom.
People scrolling down the listing may miss the link.

·2 weeks agoAnother pointless update that nobody asked for, solves no issues and makes things more complicated than they need to be. We are all used to old gallery and there is nothing wrong with it. Bring it back please.

If you have more than 3 photos it's not apparent that is the case without clicking on one to open the gallery.
Don't expect eBay to acknowledge any issues with it, everything they do is great and we should be happy with it but your feedback may be passed along to a black hole.

·3 weeks agoIt's another ridiculous thing they seem to be testing, yet more if it ain't broke don't fix it messing around, like the newly listed BS they were testing last week.
