Hi, 3 months ago ebay decided to put our business on the delayed payouts, which works that any money from orders shipped fully tracked is released 3 days after the delivery and anything shipped without full tracking we have to wait over a month for the money to be released. Spoke with the CS 3 times about it few months ago and was told that there is nothing they can do, but it only temporary, so I shouldn't worry about it, as apparently it was purely for our safety.
聽
Today I decided to call them again (as I was told it was a temporary measure) and a nice lady promised me that she will get that resolved and I will start receiving payouts as before (daily without money on hold) and everything will go back to normal.
聽
However an hour later I received the following message:
聽
聽
...so more less as you can see above we was told to "buzz off", therefore I called them again and lucky enough (or not) I had exactly the same lady on the phone, but this time she said that there is nothing she can do and after short conversation she hung up on me.
聽
Did anybody has similar situation?聽 Any idea how to remove the "delayed payouts"? Any relevant advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

路2 months agoOver amazon they have started delaying payments for 7 days AFTER est delivery. Its called DD+7 and sellers are up in arms about it and its really affected our cashflow over on our amazon store. Think of the interest they are making on held money!

路2 months agoJust for the record - all of this automated rubbish makes me want to scream. Having just been round in circles with a chatbox on an insurance claim (another story... which I won, thankfully) I feel for you. Apparently firms are now using AI to reject job applicants only seconds after the applicant sent the form in. How demoralising would that be???聽聽

路2 months agoI think the frustrating thing with this is having looked at the OP stats/metrics he is literally 100% perfect. Unless I'm not seeing something else like maybe a counterfeit item or something but looking at what they sell I very much doubt that. When this 31 day hold got applied to our account last july ebay plainly told us 'These new payout rules are being rolled out to every seller account'. I had several CS agents state this. It was a blatant lie and was confirmed by Kat on here also that its NOT being applied to every account. There was also other sites calling for ebay to be transparent. We, like this OP, have not been told why it was applied to the account. Its very stressful and frustrating quite frankly and I do feel very sorry for the OP as they seem to run their account bob on. Unless like I say there is something else we don't know. But for us there was definitely nothing untoward. No counterfeit items etc etc. The hold just dropped off 7 months later and reverted back to normal.

OP2 months agoThanks for your replies, sadly after knocking my head against the wall (over the phone and chat), it looks like that we have to wait for ebay "completely automated process" to finish. Currently we have 237 payouts on hold and sadly about 20% of what we sell is shipped via ordinary letters without any tracking, so all of them are 30 days wait and the tracked ones most of them is released 3 days after delivery, but some of them takes much longer. Anyway thanks for your input and valuable advice, at least I know what to expect, hopefully not 7 months, but who knows... All the best.

路2 months agoWhy nor send everything with a tracking number? If it is not worth a consumer paying for that why sell it on eBay? If it's something cheap that people can buy at the mall, let them.聽 Affluent consumers value convenience and will pay for it and for the peace of mind Tracking brings.聽
typo_lee
路2 months agoSold on here for over 25 years. All our items are average 拢5. Customers will NOT pay 拢2.85 for tracked post which equates to virtually 70% of the overall cost of the stickers we sell. You cannot get our items from a general mall. They want cheap, quality stickers and when your competitors are all offering 2nd class postage for a cheaper price then buyers will always go for the cheaper price. Most of our customers now realise 2nd class post is rubbish but they understand and take the risk. They know their NHS, HMRC etc letters are not arriving at all on time either.
therenewalworkshopltd
路2 months agoWhy on earth would you pay for tracked services, for letter items that are costing sub 拢5?
聽
No customer is going to pay more than half that again that for a tracked delivery, bar the odd one with too much money.
typo_lee
路2 months agoExactly. Its nuts. Consumers won't pay it. The only way to get these sub 拢5 items to a customer is by sending economy letter post to stand the slightest chance of turning a profit.
therenewalworkshopltd
路2 months agoThere are some items like that, that I will send as RM48 LL, but that is as far as I would go with them.
But 99% of the time, it's just not worth it.
聽
On a separate account, I sell a lot of sub 拢5 items that will go in a letter.聽 They all have the options of 1st class, tracked 48/24 and Special delivery.聽 I get the occasional request for 1st, but to date, I have never had a tracked.
聽
@pillarboxred聽Just because people don't want to pay tracked rates for an item, does not mean that they don't want it delivered to them.
But nobody selling this kind of stuff is going to stop doing it, because they can go the "mall?"
Are you American?聽聽

OP2 months agoThanks for your reply, I guess it's depend what you selling, some of our listings are multi-variations ones, so you can offer large bulk qty's for business buyers, smaller qty's for private buyers at attractive price and in many cases we also have a sample option. We not making any money on samples, but we don't want to loose too much money either, therefore we can't price them at 拢6 and shipped tracked, because nobody will use that option, if we price them let's say at 拢2 and ship them via letter it's reasonable for both parties (buyers are happy with the price and we only slightly subsidize the samples). Hope this make sense. Thank you.

路2 months agoi wouldnt go down the ombudsman route, as they'll ban you for life, you have no god given right to buy or sell on ebay, so just go with the flow, your obviously a high risk on the ebay platform so until they determine that your not a risk this will stay on your account, the only thing you can do is keep posting the items on time and it will gradually improve your standing with ebay, i wouldnt bother with feedbacks, dont make difference if u have 100% if ebay sees your business as a risk or something they dont like they can block you.
聽
i wouldnt be too bothered thats just ebay covering themselves and buyers from scam sellers, as there is plenty of them on here with new items, selling basically garbage
聽
also you need to ask yourself why have you put your business in such a position relaying on 1 sellin platform, i would start on others so when you have issues like this doesnt affect your business
聽
i run 2 accounts on here, and even though i clear on average 拢15-20k a month its always run on the basis of a part time business alongside my main business of repairin salvage cars due to the fact of no protection for sellers and like said they can close your a/c 2morrow without a reason as ebay is a private business and they can decide who they wish to do business with,聽 so if my a/cs are closed i wont b 2 bothered i;ii just continue with my main business
聽
but going forwards there is talk of ebay gettin taken over and new owners will treat sellers more fairly so its best just to style it out and do as you are with 100% fb's
boomltd
OP2 months agoThanks for your reply and advice, looks like we will have to wait and in the meantime focus on other selling platforms.
聽
In regards of "ebay gettin taken over and new owners will treat sellers more fairly" I don't think that will go ahead:

路2 months agothis is just a start ebay will get taken over as there performance is pure shame compared to other platforms, ebay has same if not better global presence than amazon or any other online mkt place but there growth is shameful so many new investors have seen what ebays issues are and will no doubt make take over bids as you have a truly unrivalled market place with over 245 million active user accounts last time i checked so plenty of growth potential for a investor, i think ebay has to be worth near 1trillion聽 if you compare it to the likes of space x ellon musk garbage and other sites he has
聽
but its like your operatin on a 1980s computer the site back ground is so back dated you cant even send invoices to customers to pay, need to keep listin auctions, then the seller board so many links to take you different places when it should all be on 1 page the list goes on not to forget the ai chat garbage they have
聽
so there is massive return for the right investor and ebays valuation is based on the hard work from there sellers who most feel ripped off when sellin on here hene why there is no new serious business comin onto the platform hence slow or negative growth!!!!
聽
then they have no proper regulator if they feel like closin your account 1 day youhave no say whatsoever as there private business that alone is a massive risk for any new business wantin to startup on here

路2 months agoOkay, so I am going to assume from your post here that you were in no way rude or belligerent with the CS - you called her a 'nice lady' and your messages here seem perfectly pleasant. So I am happy to assume that -聽 if that is the case, I think there is crossed wires here (if you were unpleasant in any way, you shouldn't have been and this is the result)
聽
If you rang initially not with a complaint but with a request to solve a problem - there is no reason it should have come back as a 'complaint'. A complaint is when you are unhappy with the info given, or the person for racism/rudeness etc - which is why ebay suggests Ombudsman.聽
聽
The fact you got the same lady twice is a fluke that probably (to my mind) explains this bizarre thread. If you kept your cool, and were totally polite, she should never have 'hung up' on you. So I wonder if maybe she is not very good at her job and maybe realises she shouldnt have logged the issue as a complaint.
聽
My advice:
聽
Ring back tomorrow morning as soon as the lines open and hope for Dublin (usually - not always - best CS who understand how ebay works and are not reading from scripts).
Give the complaint ref number - then apologise in advance for any error on your side - but explain聽that you are not complaining about anyone/anything - but trying to resolve the issue of your delayed payouts which you understood was a temporary measure.
Stay polite and calm - if you do not feel that the person understands your issue - request a manager.
聽
I hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

路2 months agoWe had this applied to our account last July and trust me I had dozens of calls with CS and they could not help whatsoever and just said its was being rolled out to ALL sellers accounts. The OP will get nowhere.
boomltd
OP2 months agoThanks for your reply. I can assure you that I was nice and polite all the way. Anyway I called them again this morning at 8am as suggested, but sadly I didn't reached Dublin, so after 30 minutes of pointless waiting (they wasn't interested in complaint ref number) I was told to try the chat as there is nothing they can do, so I tried the chat and at least I was lucky to get someone honest. Apparently the system is "completely automated" and "cannot be manually intervened". Turns out that we are the ones to be blamed for it, we worked too hard and due to "explosive growth in selling" ebay decided to reward us with delaying our payouts from 7days to 31 days (depend it was shipped fully tracked or not). Please see the screenshot below. Funny, when we doubled our sales in our shop on other selling platform we have email with congratulations, here quite opposite聽馃

路2 months agoI admit this sounds awful. Just a point of information. Never wait. Open up the chat box. Then keep typing speak to an agent. Speak to agent. speak to a human etc. And eventually you will get a call back. I've never had one take more than 3 minutes.

路2 months ago聽Apparently the system is "completely automated" and "cannot be manually intervened".聽
聽
I've heard this one before about other systems, and I'm afraid I don't believe ebay would create systems someone cannot intervene in. It may not be the front line customer service agent, but there will be a way it could be done. ebay has tied its self up in so many knots over not admitting something is wrong the ability to fix a problem has become very difficult if not impossible for the likes of us.聽 And its only going to get worse with AI.
typo_lee
路2 months agoAll you stuff is sent tracked presumably? So you get paid within 3 days after delivery confirmed so thats not too bad is it? But annoying all the same. But not as annoying as us having to wait 31 days as our post is sent untracked letter post small items.
typo_lee
路2 months agoLooking at your feedback, TRS status, and amount of sales you do I cannot understand why they would apply this to your account quite frankly? For us like I said above I think we had a number of larger than normal transactions that triggered something but again we werent told. At the time we were told by CS this 31 day payout for untracked items was being applied to everyone. Clearly now this was a lie as we were put back on next day payouts and had an email from ebay saying congratulations youve brought your account back into good standing when in fact were have always been above standard for the 25 years selling on here.
typo_lee
路2 months agoHave you had any larger than normal transactions go through your account? That can trigger this kind of thing. In fact I think we were one of the first ones to have this 31 delay applied to our account last year and it nearly took us under as we send everything 2nd class untracked as we sell cheap low value items. It took 7 months for it to go back to next day payouts. All our mail is sent untracked 2nd class so right now our metrics are really horrendous but there is simply nothing we can do as royal mail are so poor delivering letter post. We can't simply add on 拢2.85 for tracked post when our competitors are offering them on the same 2nd class service much cheaper it would kill us overnight.聽
therenewalworkshopltd
路2 months agoFirst, try searching the forums there are several threads about this kind of thing happening.
However, it is usually down to you not being within their various limits.
So check your metrics.聽 Are you actually dispatching on time?
Are there any issues with late deliveries and so on?
That kind of thing, of which there are many others to consider.
boomltd
OP2 months agoHi, Thanks for your reply, yes we always dispatch on the very same day, there was no issues with late deliveries and all our metrics are above average, please see below:

路2 months agoHis metrics, feedback and sheer quantity of sales look amazing so this seems very odd and they deserve an explanation from ebay at least. I did go to the ombudsman when they applied the restriction on our account but the ombudsman said they couldnt touch the case due to the contract between seller and ebay.
