New business seller temporarily restricted with no explanation in Messages
Summary: dryerstands_uk is experiencing a temporary restriction on their new eBay business seller account, preventing them from publishing product listings. Despite following setup guidance, there are no restriction notices or instructions in their eBay Messages or email. They seek advice on how to address this issue and contact eBay for clarification on any required verification steps.
Hello everyone,
I’m hoping someone may be able to advise.
We opened our business seller account around two days ago and have been setting up our eBay Shop, business policies, delivery/returns settings, and our first two product listings.
When we try to publish either listing, eBay displays a notice that the account has been temporarily restricted from buying and selling and tells us to check Messages for the steps required.
However, there is no restriction notice or instruction in My eBay Messages or the registered email inbox. The shop itself appears open, and Seller Hub shows normal selling capacity, but publishing is blocked.
We have followed the setup guidance and are not aware of any unpaid fees, buyer issues, policy breaches, or missing information.
Has anyone experienced this on a newly opened UK business seller account? If so, how did you reach an eBay agent or find out exactly what verification was required?
Thank you.

Hi @dryerstands_uk ,
Thank you for your post.
Its best to contact customer support to have the account reviewed and details verified. It would need to be done by phone contact. Go through the help and contact option at bottom of page and then contact us option >choose managing your account> restrictions> choose automated assistant on the left and once on the chat you can request to speak with an agent.
Thank you,
Kat
