Summary: crash_salvage_repair expressed frustration with difficulties in booking parcels through eBay, criticizing the support agents and the outdated system. They highlighted issues with being charged extra when switching carriers and pointed out the lack of transparency in postage prices. cbennissupplies suggested the issue might relate to a product commodity code, but crash_salvage_repair mentioned it made no difference. Concerns about data privacy and breaches of the GDPR were raised by papso22, but crash_salvage_repair defended their position, citing past financial losses due to scams. roger_roger_over_and_nowt added that selling practices should also comply with set pricing regulations.

·1 week agoBy the way , you cannot publish the personal details of previous buyers on your listings and call them out as scammers. Not only is this totally unprofessional but it's a serious breach of the GDPRs and could cost you a lot of money, or even your ebay account.

OP1 week agowell its veyr easy for you to say that, last yr i lost £15000 due to scam buyers, why dont you send over 15k to cover my losses, seems as though u like many others like to side with scam buyers
no wonder businesses are leavin the platform and going elsewhere
this yr its come down massively as ive got my "scam buyer protection system" in place, see my previous posts regarding this its a fantastic system that has got rid of 99% of scammers, but as these scammers consistently evolve im learning there new scams everyday, but been a massive reduction so far in scammers

·1 week ago · Editedtax reference? I take it you are sending something outside of the country
it is possible it is there term for what we in the Uk call a product commodity code The code determines Customs Duty, Value Added Tax (VAT) and controls or restrictions in the recipients country.

·1 week agoWhich carrier are you trying to book the postage with and are you trying to purchase it on eBay? It is most likely eBay's IOSS number that is required (if the item is £135 or under) which should have been prepopulated if you are purchasing the postage through eBay.
