Global Shipping NADs
Summary: recordhaven has experienced multiple 'Not as described' claims recently after forty years of selling vinyl records without such issues. They suspect the damage might occur during transit, possibly due to changes in the shipping program handling. jlovie suggested that the damage could occur in the UK leg of the journey, considering postal delays. sheba-knows-best noted the potential for people to make false claims against large companies without guilt. sml192 clarified that the new shipping program offers more protection against returns, having transitioned from Pitney Bowes to Asendia.
On my last three sales through the program I've had 'Not as described' claims with refund requests. This has never happened before, I probably only get one domestic claim once a year if that. I've been selling vinyl records through the mail for forty years. All records are inspected under a strong light and then play tested. Any under my own strict grading I don't even bother to list. The recent most sale to New York buyer is saying it has a large dent in it, I think this could of only happened in transit. Until recently all the sales through the program were sent to Staffordshire, I take it the company now handling Global shipping has now changed. Anyone else having problems?

·Sep 11, 2026 at 9:58 AMAre you now on the new eIS programme or still on the old GSP? With eIS ypu are protected against all returns whereas with GSP you are only protected if the reason for the return is 'Damaged in transit'.
Yes, GSP was Pitney Bowes whereas eIS is Asendia.

·Sep 11, 2026 at 8:58 AMInteresting.
Just a thought - I wonder if some buyers who would never claim fraudulent SNAD against an individual will think it a non-crime against a big corp (a bit like some people think it is fine to steal from supermarkets given their mega profits and over-use of self-service tills).
My international sales have jumped hugely - I'm curious to see how EIS pans out

·Sep 12, 2026 at 9:00 AMSo far I'm happy with eIS. Bonuses over GSP is no extra fees for international.
I think the shipping charges may be a bit cheaper for the buyer than GSP but I need more orders to confirm that. Protected returns could turn out to be a huge bonus if it works as stated.
Negatives are eIS seems to be taking longer to process packages at their hub but maybe that's just them getting up to speed on a new system.
Another negative is vagueness over whether some listings qualify, and how to check or remove individual listings from eIS.

·Sep 11, 2026 at 8:27 AMI tend towards thinking the damage is happening in the UK leg.
With RM facing a lot of delays and backlogs I guess they're stacking big piles of sacks.
It's near impossible to protect vinyl if it ends up at the bottom of a sack with the sharp corner of a box on top of it.
I had a recent UK return with a warped edge, looked like it had been against something hot.
Did your buyer mention if the packaging also looked damaged where the dent was?
Apparently under the new eIS system we're protected against returns but I haven't seen that tested yet.
