Further Issues with Business Policies
Further issues with business policies. - In the first half of June I posted about problems with the length of time it was taking for edits to business policies concerning shipping times. Due to an extended vacation I increased shipping times to 20 days as the time away feature only allows 15 days in addition to other restrictions regarding 'click and collect' etc. I duly allowed the 24 hours stated by eBay for the increased shipping times to come into effect. These changes took between 6 and 7 days to become effective leaving me with half a dozen late shipping defects. eBay customer services told me they were taking up to a week now due to increased traffic but any defects would be dismissed as they weren't my fault ............ another 'porky', they weren't dismissed. That's now in the past fortunately.
Several weeks ago I changed my prices to EU countries for shipping to take into account the new small package tax of €3.00. It is cheaper for the buyer for me to pre-pay taxes at my end so all postage prices to EU countries were raised by £4 on my business postage policies to take account of this charge, currency transaction fees, Royal Mail verification charges (£1) and of course increased eBay final value fees with their associated VAT fees (I am non vat registered). This week I have had two EU sales; on Monday to Hungary and today to the Netherlands; both were showing the old postage charges; leaving me down £4 on each sale. I have checked both the postage policies concerned and they show the new edited price and do not show any 'update pending' tags.
I should add that both sales were large letter sales; I generally use the GSP for small parcels and above unless it is a customer who is receiving a bespoke combined order.
@kat@ebay ; @dave@ebay Can someone please explain, quickly, what is going on here? At the moment it indicates that business policies are no longer fit for purpose. As international sales are a large part of my business unless this is fixed quickly I have no alternative other than stop all EU sales and starting moving listings to other platforms. This appears to be yet another failure on eBay's part and for information the item number of today's sale was 206048402573.
P.S. are eBay now going to refund or credit me the missing £8 in my income (minus your fees of course) due to a failure in their systems?
