eBay International Shipping is here
Summary: nevillestyke received a notification from eBay about transitioning from the Global Shipping Programme to eBay International Shipping (eIS). However, buyers reported not seeing their listings as available for international shipping which raised concerns. Other participants also shared mixed experiences, citing issues with tracking updates and deliveries, particularly with Royal Mail and UPS services. kat@ebay provided feedback and requested further details to address the issues, noting a tracking update problem after items reached the hub. Meanwhile, some users noted that while delivery times were satisfactory, tracking updates were often delayed or inaccurate, leading to customer confusion. Concerns about the reliability and efficiency of the new service, compared to previous arrangements, were a common theme among sellers.
I had a message one day ago from ebay saying:
"Your eligible listings, including any new listings you create, will now use eBay International Shipping (eIS). This replaces the Global Shipping Programme (GSP). There is no action needed on your part. eIS works just like GSP, but we’ve expanded what you get when you ship internationally.
What this means for you:
Your eligible listings are visible to buyers across 195+ countries.
Send your sold items to the UK hub as usual. eBay handles international shipping and customs clearance.
No International selling fees are charged on eIS transactions.
Buyers pay import fees and international shipping charges at improved rates.
Your payouts are protected. eBay covers return costs and handles buyer claims at no extra cost.
By default, eBay International Shipping includes all eligible countries. If you want to update where you sell, keep your existing country exclusions or opt out entirely, you can manage this at any time in your Postage Preferences."
Since then, I've had messages from two overseas buyers saying that: " it looks like you are not shipping to France. Can you please confirm this information?Thank you in advance Good day" I've not changed anything and the old GLobal Shipping Programme worked fine, ever since brexit.
Does the new ebay International Shipping work o.k. for anyone?

·2 weeks ago · EditedI am having serious difficulty with the international transition.
An order posted to the old GSP address on 10th September has no tracking at all and ebay only suggest that my Australian buyer make a claim for not received when that is finally allowable.
Another order actually delivered to the new Eisema address on Friday 25/9/26 for forwarding to France, has had no tracking update. Ebay suggest that tracking updates can take up to a week.
I have zero confidence in the ebay international service at the moment, another failed strategy from ebay it seems. Hopefully some have had better experience than me.

·1 week agoJust checked the few orders I have sent using it so far and its looking ropey. 2 have updated tracking information but its very slow and the third shows on Ebay as just "tracking number provided" with my Royal Mail tracking number on it, but on checking that tracking it has been delivered 2 days ago to the hub. So it kind of gives the buyer a bad impression of the seller to see that and assume they haven't taken any action in posting it...
How can they not get this right? It really isn't hard is it.

·1 week agoI think the issue must be with RM scanning ( or not). All of my Evri parcels have updated tracking when they are received at the hub. So far, no issues.
vintagewatchpart
·1 week agoThe royal mail tracking numbers show as delivered (to the hub) on the royal mail tracking page, but on Ebay they say "tracking number provided" - RM are scanning its just not updating to Ebay

·1 week agoMy latest one was sent 2nd class letter to the hub.
Be interesting to see how it's handled, as there's no tracking link yet.

·2 weeks agoI posted one to this new International Shipping address yesterday, and 24 hours later not a single scan is showing from Royal Mail and it is supposed to arrive today.
The other system to Litchfield showed up as soon as Royal Mail had scanned it or a tracking number was entered.

·2 weeks agoUpdate on mine, showing as being delivered by Royal Mail this morning at 8.39 am, yet not a single scan showing on eBay tracking, absolutely nothing.
This system is clearly not working.

·2 weeks agoI have had a few sales to obscure locations I don't normally send to using the new international shipping system, I didn't receive any confirmation I was now a participant but before I change everything around, seeing some of these comments gives me concern. 50% of my orders are international and I send them via Royal Mail - issues... maybe 1 in 1000 packages.
I'd like to use this new system for all countries but some early feedback here is concerning.
Can anyone share positive experiences with the system so far vs using traditional royal mail international services - I'd like to keep customers happy and avoid having messages asking where items are to increase my workload... but it seems this may be the case if I were to turn it on for all countries.

·2 weeks agoMy parcel was received at the hub on the 16th and delivered to the buyer in the US on the 25th. Happy buyer, happy seller.

·3 weeks agoMy latest eIS order has a different tracking page, which has been added quicker this time, but it still doesn't work. Shows as 'not found'.
cobwebcottage
·3 weeks agoI don't have any issues with tracking my latest order. I suppose it depends on the forwarding courier.
21st - arrived at hub
22nd - being checked for international postage
23rd - tracking number provided for Asendia

·3 weeks agoI agree the tracking seems very slow to update - although when I have investigated using the tracking # provided, I could see it made delivery to the US in 11 days - which is pretty good - even though ebays tracking failed to say delivered.
Frankly what I care about is no returns. If EIS honours this promise I am a happy bunny.
Despite the poor tracking, I have had no complaints from buyers as yet (touch wood).

OP1 month agoMost of my problem listings are for AV cables. Ebay say that I just have to change my category, in the listings, to something that the item actually is most certainly not (I've changed them to 'flash sync cables') and that seems to work, so overseas buyers can now buy my items and have them shipped via ebay's International Shipping. Strange that I now have to lie in my listing category when revising the listing but then the true category shows up in Item Specifics, when you view the listing.
nevillestyke
OP1 month agoThe true category only showed up briefly, whilst the system was updating: once the listing had been there a short while it changed to the spurious category.
kat@ebay
Hi @nevillestyke ,
Thank you for your post.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with the new eBay International Shipping. We will share this with our shipping team to review for future improvements.
Thank you,
Kat

·2 weeks agoI have also been enrolled and it seems okay ATM, one thing I can add is I have had several messages from customers who are being told the item is being delivered when its actually been delivered to the hub.
Does the customer need this information as it is causing some confusion.
Thanks
kat@ebay
Thanks for sharing @sandsman2
They do get updated for the journey of the item but its not a delivery notice when its at the hub. If you have a buyer that advises the message is specific to the item being delivered can you share the item number for the order and I'll use that as feedback for the team.
Thank you,
Kat

·2 weeks agoI've got one that tracking isn't working for.
It shows arrived at hub, then a UPS tracking number provided on Sept. 11th which doesn't work. It's now overdue for delivery.
Item No. 800560715659
kat@ebay
Hi @jlovie ,
Thank you for sharing.
I had it checked and it is showing as delivered but looks like the syncing is not updating it on the eBay side. We have reported that to be checked. This appears to be a tracking update issue on the eBay-managed leg after the item reached the hub, rather than a problem with the shipment you sent. As your item reached the eBay hub successfully, your original shipment to the hub was completed as expected.
Thank you,
Kat

·1 week agoBackdated tracking (from 3 weeks ago) has now been added and it is showing as delivered. The UPS tracking link still doesn't work though.
kat@ebay
Hi @jlovie ,
That's great, thanks for coming back and confirming that. Will feedback regarding the UPS.
Thank you,
Kat
