Ebay EDDs

I know it's been discussed at length, but with the new Royal Mail practice of delivering second class letter every other day, the problem is getting much worse. Two INRs opened in the last couple of days. One card was posted on Monday 20th, with an Ebay forecast of 21st - 22nd. Buyer wants to know where their card is as they need it tomorrow. If there are any Ebay reps on here, could you please speak to your technical team as the EDDs need changing. (However, according to Royal Mail, it should be delivered today)

·2 weeks agoI've contacted eBay CS a couple times but just get nowhere. They just don't seem to understand RM have changed the transit time! Just sent them another reply to the below.
They also don't seem to understand there are 3 service levels for SD, 9am, 1pm, & Next Day but only give sellers the option to select 9am & 1pm.

·3 weeks agoWe are currently forced (Value) to use this service, which is now, not fit for purpose. It is time for ebay to ban any Royal Mail service which is not fully tracked (Not RM24 or RM48 as well) so that everyone is on a level playing field. We have seen this decay into a service which is very lucky to arrive on time (3 days) and see many take 20-30 days! A lot of this is mail in sacks, which are held at depot (Royal Mail deny) and our letter box testing in various depots has yielded an improvement in times, albeit very slight. After 24 years we are now demoted from TRS status with INR "very high" but the EDD is still 2 days.

·3 weeks agoThis is a sale of mine from 11am. It’s too late to post it now I’ve been out once I don’t want to do a post run again.
The buyer is from Lancs so we share the same Evri depot and if they collect it on Monday if has a good chance of being delivered on Tuesday. Royal Mail would mostly likely deliver it on Wednesday/Thursday.
I decided to watch the Hills’ video about Yodel. In his comments there was someone giving him stick for not using Royal Mail. It is the cost but also I hope buyers who are critical and trigger happy on INR’s realise it can be to navigate eBay EDD’s, posting at our convenience does matter and we don’t enjoy being being whipped by eBay on every sale.

·3 weeks ago · Edited2:45pm I sell an item under £5 with freepost. It has to go RM 2nd class that’s what was advertised, the EDD is still 27th-28th like the other one and the buyer is in Essex. I can’t manoeuvre a way round this one, there is absolutely no chance of achieving that EDD. Even if I upgrade to 1st Class on Monday it still has a 1-2 day estimate: 1. Why should I and 2. Even if I do it’s got a 50% chance of working?
They are wallys really aren’t they. I know this is nothing new but I hold out hope someone at eBay will eventually take notice if we continue to give examples.

OP3 weeks agoAnother two not received's today. All posted on 20th July and all buyers say they ordered because Ebay told them they would receive within two days. Royal Mail have admitted again that they are having problems, so why aren't the Ebay EDDs being adjusted.

·3 weeks agoI agree - Its worse on Amazon they just say its not arrived and expect a refund (and I have to give it) so Ive just started upping my LL items a little to compensate for the INR starting - Its not on, but unfortunately they have the monopoly on LL and they dont even scan the QR code most the time and send a pointless book of stamps if you claim.

Eight days is disgraceful.

OP3 weeks agoAnother 3 INRs today. Spoke to someone at my local sorting office this morning and they said they are being told to prioritise first class and tracked. They have bags of second class that have been sitting there for a week (one of which is obviously mine).
The situation isn't going to get any better and after 16 years I'm seriously thinking about closing my account.
